Update - 06/12/2021

Hello, everyone! Did you guys have a nice weekend? Those of you who ordered a copy of Through Sunken Lands should already have it in your hands, so I hope you're checking it out, it's really a special game! With that out of the way, I'm again 100% focused on Across a Thousand Dead Worlds, as you can imagine. I had some time to install some new shelves though because the RPG books were literally pilling up on my desk, and I spent a couple hours on Saturday trying to find a new guitar sound and essentially just fooling around, but not much else. A fun and relaxing weekend, overall!

So now that the gear section is done I've been working on the last big piece of the puzzle: the GM chapter. As I mentioned before, this chapter contains some advice on how to run the game as a traditional RPG, but most of it is dedicated to GM emulation tools. As you know, I've already worked on this sort of stuff a multitude of times (for my personal projects both before and after I decided to publish stuff, both Disciples of Bone & Shadow and Seekers Beyond the Shroud, the Scourge of the Scornlords solo rules, the Muspelhell solo rules, etc.), but this time I decided to attempt approaching it with a fresh look. I'm taking a really critical look at what I had for Seekers (which is the latest iteration of my oracle tables), and seeing if it really worked, and how much is truly essential. I am definitely basing the ATDW's oracles on what I had for Seekers, but they are becoming the best iteration of them so far. I'm also including clearer guidelines on how to handle the standard questions that surface during gameplay, the ones that you would usually ask a GM ("Is the room pressurized?", "How do they look"? "What happened after they ran away?", etc.). So I'm feeling quite optimistic about it! Once this is all done, the open playtest will begin, I cannot wait!

So that's all I'll be doing this week, trying to get this done (I'm sure it will be though). Then I must prepare the Kickstarter promotional text so we can start setting that up, because the target date is approaching fast! I'm so, so excited to be getting so close to having this project done.

Hope you all have a great week!
