Update - 20/09/2021
Hello, everyone! How was your weekend? Anyone managed to play anything? It was another weekend of no gaming for me, unfortunately. I've been asked to participate in some compilations and splits so I've been busy recording stuff. It was fun, but exhausting!
So what have I done this past week? Mostly writing for Across a Thousand Dead Worlds. I'm finally happy with the structure of how Planetside Exploration works, even though I'm sure things will change once we play test them. As it stands now, PCs arrive to a biome and explore it via hexes. Each Biome has 100 hexes to explore; what I'm not sure about yet is if I should allow the crew to go to the border of a Biome and roll to see which is the adjacent Biome... One the one side, this is cool cause it adds more variety, and certain types of Biome, such as Barren or Frozen, can be a bit basic. On the other side, we don't get cool Star Wars-like planets, with a global Biome and climate, haha. There are 10 different types of Biome, so far. I'm also trying to add a few flavor tables that you can ignore if you just want strict exploration and combat. I think it's good to have them though, to immerse yourself and learn what your characters see. They're also really useful if you're playing this as a GM.
Aside from that, I've done good progress on the Farthun material for this month's Patreon content. I think I'm done with all the different lists of stuff and now it's the moment to put it all together into one coherent thing. It should be a fun little city setting for Disciples of Bone & Shadow! Oh yeah, and it has a map illustrated by Glynn from Monkeyblood Design (who just won another Ennie for cartography, so that's really cool!).
I had hoped I would have been able to start with the Through Sunken Lands pre-orders already, but the print we work with is a bit overwhelmed and they haven't had the chance to start working on it yet so I guess we'll have to wait. I'll let you guys know, though! This should be one gorgeous book, at least according to the materials I chose!
I've also been working on something else in the background... This would be a huge gamechanger, so I'll share the news as soon as I can!
And that's it for this week, hope everyone has a great one!

Glad I could help!
For the planet contents/hexes, maybe the first roll is to see whether the planet is a full biome (Star Wars) or a mix of biomes (hex travel). You could go full flowchart, with different tables for different results: mixed biome tables, desert planet hex tables, ocean planet hex tables, ice planet hex tables, etc. That way you can have even more tables!
Thanks for the feedback, I like the first roll idea, actually! As for the rest of tables based on biome, that is exactly what I'm doing, haha. That's why it's taking so long, each Biome has a few tables to roll on!
