Update - 19/04/2021
Hello! How was your weekend? Hope you guys had a nice time, now that spring is in full swing (at least here in Madrid). I was mostly working and then I decided to watch Invincible, the Amazon animation superhero show, it was better than I expected! And only 5 episodes, so it was fast to binge.
These last days my main focus has been Into the Endless Void, as you would expect. While I continue to write daily, I've spent a lot of time (and money...) trying to find a good illustrator for the project; we're looking for something very specific, that's true, but I never had so many issues finding someone at a reasonable price. I must have contacted 20 different artists, and most of them don't answer, or ask for $500-800/illustration, which is madness. I did manage to hire a few of them, asking them to make a single illustration to see how it works out, and it's mostly been a waste of money. Finally though, I think we might have found what we need; at least I think we found our guy for spot art, and I talked to a different one for the larger, more detailed pieces. Here's a sample of a spot illustration:
As you can see, it's pretty dirty and sketchy, so we need more detailed, possibly full-colored illustrations as well to liven up the book. As I said, I think I found a guy, but he's busy for the rest of the month so I must talk to him again in a couple of weeks. Let's hope it works out! Phlvx continues to work on the design part of the game, and he's even produced a couple of really cool illustrations, so at this rate he's going to end up in charge of the whole visual side of the project.
I've also been trying to finish this month's Patreon content for Seekers Beyond the Shroud. I think the new reaction and morale rules for NPCs are going to make the game much more interesting, something beyond simply killing everything that moves. They're very simple and easy to implement, so they're not a hassle to use. I must apologize though because I think this month is going to bring less content than what you guys are used to... I'm so focused on getting ItEV done, that I'm having problems thinking about anything else. I'm totally steamrolling this game and at this pace we'll be able to start playtesting before June.
So this starting week I'll just continue working on ItEV, and most likely upload the new Seekers content. I have exciting things in the works for this year for both Disciples and Seekers, so don't fret! You'll see new releases for both games. I was actually trying to schedule the date with Matt for the next Seekers Kickstarter campaign.... It's a really cool project, just wait!
Have a great week!
