Update - 06/07/2026
Hello, and welcome to another weekly update! I hope you all had a great weekend. On Friday I went and played some Zombicide with friends because they keep insisting and I thought I'd give it another chance, but nope, it is still really simple and boring, haha. On saturday I had a couple of friends come over but we didn't do anything special, just chat and have dinner. It's nice to have a social life once again, though, I missed it. I feel a bit guilty because I'm being less productive, but I suppose it's a healthier approach to life.
Still, I feel like I haven't really done much these past few weeks because of all the stuff that is going on in my life. A month ago I was still living with my wife and I honestly didn't expect I would be separating, but things happened so fast that it was all done before I realized. It's been a month of adjusting to new stuff and on top of that I'm having a lot of family drama so it's like a perfect storm of conflict and chaos. I can definitely say this is the most unstable period of my life. I honestly didn't expect I would be going through this turmoil at my age, but such is life.
In any case, I have managed to work, even if it isn't as much as I'd like to. I've been dealing with the GamesQuest stuff in the background, finalizing the Noxian Reclaimers book (I think I should have the final illustrations this week), and getting everything ready for print. I think I should also receive the PoD proof copies from DTRPG very soon, which means the first three Machine Gods books will be for sale shortly! It's annoying to deal with all this admin stuff because it feels like I'm not doing anything, but it's necessary. I have also tried to upload my books to RPG Trader but I'm running into issues, have worked on trying to get a marketing strategy working for at least my Patreon, which is bleeding members at an alarming rate, and dealt with the promotional side of the Spanish crowdfunding campaign for Machine Gods. It's honestly not doing very well and it's quite disappointing, but it is what it is.
And of course, I have been working on what will be this month's Patreon content: Broken Shores 2e. I know I am supposed to be working on Across a Thousand Hollow Vaults, but I saw an uptick recently of people playing and purchasing Broken Shores, and it honestly annoys me to have such an old game for sale. It doesn't represent what I do nowadays, and even though it has some cool ideas, it is very flawed. Furthermore, I had quite of stuff already written for it, and since I'm working on existing content, getting a second edition ready isn't as bad as working on a new game from scratch. So I decided to just finish it. I don't know if it will be 100% done for you guys this month, but I've been working on it for the past three months and it's getting there. It's much more detailed than 1e, but at the same time more streamlined. It has a lot of cool ideas, and I can't wait to set up a game and try it out! In case you never saw the cover, here it is:
So this will be my focus for this month, and I know you guys are going to love it. I'm trying to go for a more real sword & sorcery feel, and I made the setting a bit more grounded and savage. Can't wait to share it with you!
So that's it for this week, I hope you all have a great one!
