Update - 11/05/2026
Hello, and welcome to another weekly update! I hope you all had a great weekend. I managed to go out to a concert with my wife and some friends, which was a great achievement, considering her depression. It was a fun little distraction, it's always good to see old friends. Aside from that, I've been working, as usual. Both Richard and I have been working hard on getting the Noxian Reclaimers book done, and it's shaping up really nicely! I'm confident I'll have the final text this month. The Machine Gods campaign is almost over, and it's been really fantastic. I'm extremely happy with the result, because it will allow me to fund the core rules, plus four expansions, which is absolutely nuts. That's a really incredible way to hit the ground running!
I haven't really done much else, as you can imagine. As soon as the Noxian Reclaimers book is done, we'll move on to the Core Dominion book (which I might rename, since a few people are confusing it with the Core Rules book...). I plan on working out the main features, writing all the lore, and then handing over the rest to Richard, because I really need to get back to Across a Thousand Hollow Vaults. It will still take me at least the whole of June to be able to be done with what I want to do with Machine Gods, and then there's all the editing, organizing the different sections, and the layout, so it really looks like this is going to be a Machine Gods summer. I will still want to do a Summer Vacation Game(TM), since there's always cool stuff that come out as a result. For those of you who don't know, since I don't really take any vacation days, what I do instead is dedicate the month of August to working on whatever I want. This is how Salvage & Sorcery and Choir of Flesh got made, so it's my time to experiment and just have fun with settings and rules. I will probably use the time to work on Empire Undying, unless I get really heated up about my Shattered Thrones setting (the one I started working on for my Open Ended Games licence, and that I've recently started to look at again as a possible game I'd run for you guys as a GM).
In any case, I'm going back to the project mines, as Luka Rejec says. Have a great week!

Found the lore chapter post, thanks! And I’ll wait on ATHV as my entry point, Having an absolute blast with CoF, love this game. 🤘🏻
Nice, I hope you like the Empire Undying lore, it's the most detailed I've ever written!
Hey Alex! Would love to hear more about Empire Undying at some point, as you’ve gone over the general premise but I’m interested in more. Also wondering what your take is for someone interested in ATHV but hasn’t read or played ATDW. I know you’ve said how much more improved it is, all that you learned since the first game, but I’m wondering if I ought to wait for ATHV or how necessary it will be have familiarity with ATDW (I know ATHV is standalone). Anyway, excited for your summer game work and what will come from it!
I thought I shared with you guys the basic lore chapter? Check around here on the Patreon. As for ATHV, it's a perfect starting point, easier to jump into than ATDW, so you don't need any previous knowledge of the game or setting.
