Update - 04/05/2026
Hello, and welcome to another weekly update! I hope you all had a great weekend. I spent it working, mostly, but I also had an interview on Saturday and on Sunday we had our monthly Grand Master Live Chat, which is always fun.
As you can imagine, I've been mostly focused on getting all the new Machine Gods content done. I have Richard's help, fortunately, so I'm going to use a big portion of the funds on hiring him so I can focus on other games while he does that. Still, I want to write the new classes for the Noxian Reclaimers book, and the lore and some of the systems in the Core Dominion book. I really want to get Across a Thousand Hollow Vaults done, and I also need to prepare the upcoming Ker Nethalas content!
The response for the Machine Gods has been absolutely fantastic. I'm 100% sure it's all because of the Mörk Borg community, though; don't get me wrong, I think Machine Gods is a cool game and the setting is fun, but MB fans are real collectors and a lot of people buy anything that is released for the system. This is the first time ever that a deluxe edition sells out almost instantaneously. I even ended adding 50 more copies because of how many people where asking for one. So yeah, I'm really happy to have so much backing because it gives me a lot of freedom. I do intend to put all the money into the game, though. I have been calculating the full campaign expenses and it's a bit crazy; with the added 50 copies to print, and adding taxes, Kickstarter's cut, the circa 3K that Kickstarter adds to the goal but is actually the shipping people paid for the Boxed Sets, and paying Richard and Simone, I actually need 30K to cover it all. I know we'll get there, I'm not worried, but it's just brutal how these things snowball. But it makes sense; I'm adding two whole new books to the campaign, and that means more art and more writing. As I was saying the other day on the Discord, my goal with Kickstarter is never to make any money, but to truly cover expenses. If I get extra funding, it goes to cover the production costs of more stuff. I will make money once the book goes for sale and the slate is clean, so that sales are pure profit (discounting printing costs for PoDs and the platform's cut, of course). I have actually never earned any money from a KS campaign; I either break even (Ker Nethalas, Riftbreakers 2e), or lose money (ATDW, Choir of Flesh, RHBF). My hope is always to replicate the post-campaign success of Ker Nethalas or ATDW.
In any case, this week I'll be busy with Machine Gods, but I do hope I can jump back into ATHV. That game needs to be done!
So that's it for this week, have a great one!

Hi Alex! The Print on Demand versions of Ker Nethalas available on DTRPG are now the Gravebound edition, correct? Thanks!
Yes!
