Quiet Storm
After a feverish spell of work finishing Solver #10, I've got a couple of weeks off making comics to move house before I start the next project. My intention is to do a new Steeple story, but before then, there's a standalone fill-in comic that I don't want to talk about too much until it appears here. I've been breaking it down and will start writing in earnest once my moving break is over. Everyone I've spoken to about this new mystery project seems to like it. You might enjoy it... you might hate it. But I will give it my all.
WHAT IT ISN'T
A crossover
A Des Fishman comic
A Bobbinsverse comic
Feel free to guess what it might be. I'm not telling until it runs. In a break from my usual 22-page format, it's 23 pages long, because I have added a proper "splash" page to start it.
Here's a page of drawings of mid-1980s Storm from the X-Men.

FINALLY I'm getting the Friend Bat origin story I've been silently asking for.
No Desmon Fishman? So sad!!!!
We cancel each other out then.
A follow-up on By Night?
Robert Cop! Finally!
Came here to yell this!
The Knives Out Threequel, featuring Benoit Blanc going undercover in the Elon Musk organization?
I'm hoping it's an exposé of the illegal trade in fake lederhosen. Joking, of course. I'm really craving some behind-the-scenes docudrama action from the Max Bygraves era of Family Fortunes. (Sorry. Just my half-arsed attempt at humour while we're between entertainments).
I was never big on "mohawk" Storm. But if Marvel was smart and hired you to draw the book, I'd totally buy it.
I was thinking pretty much the same thing. This is the best I've ever seen that look on her.
Glim's mystery New Zealand childhood??
That's not standalone though, is it? 😊
Your talent is wasted in your own stories of deep characters and an engaging universe when you could be cranking out 1980s X-Men tales I *still* would buy.
never thought of Storm as "cute," but here we are
