Surely at this point it’s no longer a powerful new tale, and has now upgraded to soul-searing saga.

The Tamerlane chess variant did have additional pieces, such as the giraffe, elephant, and war engine.

Should I be concerned that I want to hear MORE about Chess 2.0?

I think we *all* want to hear more about Chess 2.0.

I think I can speak for all of us when I ask for your designs of the wave 2 chess pieces.

I think it works like Pokémon - as the pieces gain experience, they go up levels, and get extra powers. At level 18, Bishop becomes Archbishop, and gets to shift onto the other colour squares. At level 36 Archbishop becomes Pope and can leave the board. Your POPE attacks their QUEEN with EXCOMMUNICATION. It is SUPER EFFECTIVE! The QUEEN is CONFUSED!

Sid's expression in panel 1 is one I find myself using a lot these days. Also, I had to google Doja Cat. I discovered she and I were born the same day. Though possibly in slightly different years.

I would "say so" ho ho!! (That's a Doja Cat joke)

The Queen once could move one square diagonally. In the 15th century Valencia, an exciting variation became popular. It was called "chess with the mad woman" (scacchi alla rabiosa), where the queen could run screaming in any direction across the board, knocking over anything in her path, while the other pieces continued in their courtly dance and pretended all was fine. The Red Queen was called Shelly*. * Sorry. That last bit isn't true.

Great facts, you have ascended to the "Gold Circle" and may now visit any of our Gold Circle lounges at transport hubs across Lithuania.
