Protease-A campaigns
On the train on Saturday I drew two really spiffing fun comics. The first one is a minor entry in the series but part 2 is top-hole. Beezer.
With the first one, you must understand that I wrote the words "having fun with Hardware Harrison" with no idea who the titular HH was or what he might represent.
Now you're intrigued. My impression is that Hardware Harrison was given an honourable discharge for falling in love with his gun in basic training.
So PROTEASE-A is now established as a masculine brand for manly men. But I didn't stop there. With an enforced 20-minute wait in a branch of Leon, I produced the following.
I'd like to pretend that this wasn't based on a real ad that I had seen a few weeks before in New York magazine, but it was. The most asinine and incongruous print ad I have seen in a while, and friends of my Twitter will know that I am "slightly" obsessed with bad print ads.
"I could see myself drinking it again" is one of the most damning pieces of advertorial copy I have ever read. And I once read ad agency copy that described a cologne as "for men attuned solely to major chords".
Thank you for your attention at this time.

So Shelley was awarded an MBE? Congrats to her. Who else from Tackleford could get a New Years Honor? I think Tim Jones would be a candidate.
Posthumous no doubt
It's been a while, but IIRC there's a tick box for "Desireable Back Striations" on Tinder profiles.
No Shelley, don't thicken your neck!
Big Easy II Big Easier?
2 Big 2 Easy
Yes, yes, good, but I think we need to spend a moment considering the frightening implications of "rev[ving] your eggs".
Is Shelly going to 'rev. her eggs'? I have a nasty, Ghostbusters 'it would be bad' feeling about this... PS: exquisite frisson of horror about the whole thing. Bravo! *chef's kiss*
"Calorie neutral food supplements" sounds like something Dr. Raven Sable might hawk with his Newtrition line of unfood: MEALS and SNACKS. Pretty brilliant work, John.
That certainly is faint praise in the Monster ad. The quotation could just as well have been "Yeah, I wouldn't pour it down the drain."
...because I'm pretty sure it violates EPA standards when you do that.
Lord do I wish I could "concentrate muscle into the feminine seat."
I want a whole series of "What happens when you swap X for Y?" ads. Water for gin. Petrol for chip oil. Babies for leopards.
Water for gin results in a destroyed kettle, otherwise these swaps have worked for me! Sponsored by leopards ™
Adding "Desirable Back Striations" to the repertoire, thank you.
Remy Fine though.
Is this who you're a corporate spokesperson for now? Very much your kind of thing, classy like.
Johnny you spoil us
