NEMS in print
I'm doing a small local show at the end of June (Macc-Pow in Macclesfield) so I've done a short print run of Destroy History: NEMS (still available here as a PDF for Patreons). Hard to believe I drew it five years ago in the depths of the pandemic lockdowns. Actually, it's not that hard to believe, because it's so tightly rendered that I plainly had nothing else to do but hone my drawing to a very sharp point.
I've written before about coming unstuck working on the second part in 2022, but I looked through my full breakdown of it and felt like it could be salvageable, with a bit of decompression. 32 pages should probably have been more like 40, or 48. We shall see.
Anyway, I thought you might enjoy my revised cover and new back cover for the book. As previously, I'll send some to UK shops and a stack to Topatoco in the US for anyone who wants to order it. (I'm not going to run out in Macclesfield, based on last year's sales figures.)

I really really wanted this in print, but OK Comics have sold out 😢 is there anywhere else I can get a copy please John?
NEMS my precious...
I will also take it as an encouraging sign if sketches of Jack in a flannel shirt and Doc Martens start showing up on this Patreon! 😁
!
Oho, teasing us now is he, keeping us on the hook with the prospect of the long-nixed NEMS pt. 2 perhaps becoming reality after all... Well, although I see your game Johnny, I'll lap it up just the same. And here's another small voice expressing quiet enthusiasm for more ITNGUTI as well.
I think it's about 80% likely though I have to do a big job with a scalpel on my pencil breakdowns, a lot of slice and dice.
Count me in as another eagerly hoping for more NEMS, or more ITNGUTI! But when we’ve had great stuff like Solver and Savage Sword of Susan (soon) it’s been easy to wait.
!!!!! Will this be on Topaco by the end of July?!
Your copy will be in the mail by the end of June, if not for you this would not have been made at all, I'd never have considered it.
Was not expecting Nems to suddenly be in focus again, but I’m all in for it. Are there any other older stories you’d consider one day releasing as small print runs (or re-releasing, maybe)?
Hmm... I've no desire to print/reprint anything pre-2020 that didn't go to a publisher. Murder She Writes, THAT and Expecting To Fly were good minis, but of their time.
Want too!
Aha, something extra for my next visit to Page 45 (I'm assuming anyway). Let's see whether I have to ask or Jonathan simply thrusts a copy into my hand the moment I hove into view.
I've not offered them to anyone yet (as I only decided to print them yesterday)
Love this cover and hope you do eventually get around to completing NEMS which I regard as a very unique and ambitious work of alternate history fiction.
I'll be your first Topatoco customer!
I call second
I love the time-travel stuff that you started and then abandoned. Will we ever see a return to the 90's escapade?
I've looked at that one recently, it was described a "pilot" for a reason. I had more pages than you saw on the website, but I cut it at what felt like a safe point because it felt a bit "grey". I think you're the first person to ask me about it in a full year since publication, Jon, which suggests my instincts were right.
Want!
