[MW Batch 2] Lifegiver - CR 13 Medium Aberration

Radiant, Elemental, Aberration, Legendary

“Take a man. Now put him on all fours. Okay, make his back hair a mass of writhing tentacles glowing with radiation. Now—final touch—replace the entire head with an opening; a black hole straight into its neck. That’s a lifegiver. Don’t be fooled by its name; it gives life in the same way a tumour bestows a weighlifter gains.”

— Heliana, Sunburnt

The cracks in a lifegiver’s dull, grey skin pulse with radiance, its ever-growing flesh shifting and writhing even as its old skin crumbles into dust. A perpetual point of bright light, the lifegiver irradiates those around, causing boils, growths, and tumours. Unless swiftly removed, the influx of new flesh can overwhelm a body, causing it to collapse under its own weight.

Aberrant Elementals. Much as biological aberrations from The Anomalies bear little resemblance to the creatures evolution (or biomancy) have fostered on the Material Plane, elementals of The Anomalies embody elements not seen in the Primordial Chaos. Embodiments of pure radiance, lifegivers as sources of solar energy. Much as a star nurtures the Material Plane with visible light and heat, lifegivers ‘nurture’ biological organisms, their radiation stimulating implacable growth.

Solar Farms. With a little ingenuity, industrious arcanificers from the College of Hanabi have harnessed these creatures for use in growhouses and aquaponic labs. With a system of pitch-black blinds and mirrors, usable levels of radiation can be funneled to plants (and, more experimentally, livestock), stimulating growth even in the dead of night and depths of winter. Of course, lab-grown food has certain stigmas that the Silk Purse is hoping to quash with their generous donations to the Heirs of Kirin’s disaster relief granaries.

G-Rays. After seeing his cousin’s success with arcanomechanical prostheses, L’Arsene has put aside his feud with Humperdink and undertaken the development of the G-Ray Organic Wellness Thing, or GROWTH for short. Who’s going to need prostheses when they can regrow entire limbs!? The results so far have resulted in several ‘creations’ for which Humperdink’s handipede has developed romantic attachments
