Just wanted to make a post about available positions on our team, and new arrivals!
New devs on the team:
Dogeek is a new permanent coder on the SS team who will help us revamp our code base (while other devs continue to implement new content and features)! It's something we had planned for a while since the game's scope has grown so much since its creation. Hopefully this will allow us to find ways to better adapt to the increasing size and complexity of the game. The biggest improvement we hope to achieve (other than cleaning up the old mess and avoiding reoccurring bugs) will be to allow save games to function across updates. It's something fans have been critical of throughout the Alpha stage of development and we will do what we to make it work!
Available positions on the team:
Short term TA (Technical Artist) with good Photoshop skills and some python language knowledge. Tasked to help us cut character assets (Photoshop) into a rig setup (face expressions overlay body assets). The goal will be to optimise character posing primarily (heaviest part of our game asset wise), and perhaps look into dialogue animation loops like blinking to bring more life to dialogues. Some python knowledge will be useful to make the transition from our current posing code, into a new rig setup with the assistance of current coders on the team.
Long term 2D generalist with experience. Someone highly skilled who can emulate the SS art direction. Strong Photoshop (digital) skills. Create character poses, linework, shading and 2D assets. The ability to create and emulate backgrounds is a big plus! The goal is to find an artist who generate game-ready assets without heavy supervision and/or revisions.

Second. 1% might be done in 1 day or in 1 week. it depends on the task. This last 1% is a BIG task because its the first round of testing and bugfixing. So it might take several days to be finished. So.. just chill.

So I found version 0.14.51 online but I'm running into trouble along the 'jenny' line. I can't seem to get her diary. All the tutorials I've seen have lead to some option of "mom wants you" but I can't seem to get there. I train with Somrak twice and then he says there is nothing more he can teach me. Anyone else have this bug and know how to fix it?
There is a walkthrough on the discord, i think its usually something like you haven't tried you luck with her in the shower or in her bed. Also has she caught you by janes door yet?

I see the point with taking your time in the development of this game (good Quality/good patreon money...) but having to wait for updates like 3 or more months is getting ridicolous... Don't shitstorm, but updates were more frequently in the earlier stages of the game and i'm backing since these early days. Just want to let you guys know that i'm not happy with these immense waiting times...
I think its because this update in general is so big with multiple features. Also the Patreon issue didnt help at all. Neatening up the code base could also have a non visual update to the game which could also potentially delay updates. However once that is done its usually helps speed along future updates. Also i think this is to most polite complaint iv seen so far :).

To the developers-- just want to let y'all know that you guys are doing a great job with the artwork, the coding, the animations, the storyline, and so forth. The dialogue could use some work though, there's context but the wording can be improved.

Okay, still on the search for a replacement for Patreon and found Flattr. After looking over their terms of use, it Does say no links to porno sites, but Summertime Saga isn't a porno site, so that should be acceptable, I would think. If this site isn't what you're looking for,DC, I'll keep searching than.😊

The next one (0.16) is Dexter, Roxy, and her mother. If you back DarkCookie ($5 or more) you can participate in content polls, and vote for your favourite girl, as long as Patreon deems your choice non-controversial, heh.
This probably is something already looked into, but have you considered MakerSupport? It's a Patreon-like site that says it doesn't censor it's creaters. I haven't checked it out fully, but if nothing else, it's a start, right?☺

Sadly, for the time being, DC and his team are going to to have to either remove that portion of the game, or at make it so that the home characters (and Diane) are not family in any sense of the word. It sucks, but these are Patreon's current guidelines, and thus DC has to abide by them so long as he uses their services. Rest assured though, once he finds a viable alternative to Patreon that gives him the creative freedom he desires, he will move there and restore Summertime Saga to what it was always meant to be, even if the transfer ends up costing him a significant portion of his patrons.

one more month atleast guys, it's gonna be very glorious(school) and very disappointing for some at the same time(guidelines) but look at the flipside, wonder what other story for family team has come up with, they definitely need to put sense into it, so replaying family routes may be interesting again, even though there was no intentions for any additions to these routes in this update
so 3 months instead of 3 1/2 makes a difference? DC should have put out 15 and 15,5 before being shut down. DC did more with less help as well. Been around as a Patron since 6 and this has gotten worse not better. For a free game to have amassed a big following with so few updates and lot's of promises was amazing. We all waited month after month for scraps of updates. And now with the censoring Patreon has forced upon the game I'm afraid those promises will be forgotten. Still trying to figure how they will change the story line to appease Patreon? It was my reason for pledging but now that story is gone so what can DC do?

So is there a reason the pledges changed without notices being sent via email? I checked my email after coming here and realizing i couldn't see most of your posts and see no email mentioning restricting game releases and other features formerly on the $1 pledge to the $5 pledge. I'll upgrade when I can but some heads up would be nice next time
I merely say this as other creators usually send blanket messages when they make pledge level rewards changes, with full understanding that patreon policy changes may have necessitated the price change. I just wish I had gotten a warning. And BTW, Nui Sance can bite me, since i can't find his reply to my comment in order to reply back and patreon doesn't do DM.

Good stuff as always Cookie. I just hope that the change in the Save feature will not mean that you will change up your development style. I really like that the new content in each update is spread out all over the game, some at the beginning, some at the middle and so on. So many projects just stack them up on the end which makes for a worse product over all! Just continue doing quality work.

Spam accounts do get deleted relatively quickly... I see four spammers on this thread so far, and three have already had their accounts deleted completely [for "not complying with Patreon Community Guidelines"] while the fourth literally started today.
