On a lighter note...
On a lighter note and because I want to kill the momentum of the previous two posts somewhat...
As of yesterday I have seventeen years sober. Which only means I have to continue to do it for another twenty-four hours and then the twenty-four hours after that.
It doesn't make me special, it just means I was willing to take the action to do it daily and I had a lot of help from a lot of people. For anyone out there struggling who may read this. "There is a solution". I'm here to tell you, you don't have to live that way anymore if you don't want to. I'm also here to say it's your choice, and if you're not ready it won't work. But, when you are the program is waiting for you.
I'm gonna go silent now and work on the game until the next dev update!
As always, hope you are all doing well! Cheers!

Congratulations!
It was inspiring to see what you have achieved. Much power to you dude!
Get your chip! That little piece of plastic keeps me going.
HELL YEAH! Congrats, Zoey!
Thanks man
KEEP COMING BACK! and notice I didn't do the pun of 'cumming'. No F-ing around when it comes to recovery. Story along the lines of Spotastic below: For me, when I got into the early teens of years of recovery, the same habits such as finding a meeting somewhere on your Recovery Birthday and announcing your milestone. I was 'too busy' for my 14....my sponsor of course called and wanted to know what meeting I was going to. I was at least honest and said none. He can be dramatic and comes up with the most outlandish situations, but he knows how to affect my brain. :) "SP: So you announced your clean time up to now? Why?" "I thought I could set an example that it is possible for the newcomers." "SP: What about everyone else in the meeting? What about the guy who has 13 years and change thinking about going out? What about the guy with 1 year and wondering if 'it still works'... what about everyone in between?" "Alright, I'll go to a meeting." "SP: Thanks! Announcing it on Facebook doesn't count as a meeting :)" And I hope WSO publishes your game as a 'supplemental reading material'. :) It'll be 27 for me in August...I know...no fronts :)
Keep pushing through fam, I will be 2 years into my codeine Sobriety this July even though I'm not completely sober since I chose to keep drinking alcohol cause at least with it I have a good level of control than I did with Codeine
October will make 18 years for me. I also used to co-lead an online addiction recovery community. Every milestone matters. Even a mistake after a long time in recovery can be pushed aside if someone makes the right correction. Be proud. You're worth celebrating.
If only the people close to me were as strong as You, keep doing what you need because it's working Stay strong
Has nothing to do with strength. In fact it's the opposite. You have to let go.
It might not make you special, but it sure makes you stronger. I’m in the same bandwagon as you for 28 years, 7 months and 24 days. It might seem silly to still count so precisely, but it’s a way for me to remember what I felt and how it should never be again. Keep it up!
This just struck me in a new way. And sorry if this un-lightens things a little. I started playing this game years ago. But, in the past year or so, I've been fighting cancer. It's not like any other illness I've ever faced. I've had two different kinds, and in theory, one's now beaten (thyroid). But it's never *really* beaten. I have to keep monitoring it. And, I have to stay on top of medication every day for the rest of my life, or it'll get really bad. There's this "struggle every day" aspect to it, this concept of no cure but "I've survived for this long so far" and needing diligence every day, one day at a time, from now on... I don't know. Maybe I'm not making sense. But, it seems to me like another route to empathy, so I'm going to think it over some more.
Makes perfect sense to me.
Keep being strong. Congratulations
👌
One day at a time ;)
