October 2023 Preview: The rise of the dunes!
Good evening fellow printers,
In today's preview you can see the complete set of miniatures coming to Highlands Miniatures for the Eternal Dynasties -our ancient egyptian themed undeads- this October 2023.
As we announced in our previous publication a few days ago, this massive set of undead miniatures is designed to perfectly quickstart the Eternal Dynasties fantasy army.
There has been a few minor updates on previous miniatures and there are also new ones, with these incredible Skeletal Cavalry miniatures and Skeletal Chariots being showcased today.
The October 2023 Release will be composed of:

Now that we are have everything from the roadmap released (except for the greenskinz) could we get an update for future releases please :) ?

Hey guys, you really did an amazing job! Can't wait to see more of them! Ian especially interested in the skeleton giant and tomb guardians. A few months back you showed renderings of your minis on 25mm bases. And my dwarfs look really sick on them. Are these renderings on 25mm bases as well? Take care and happy Spooktober!
Hi there! Thank you for your lovely words, glad you like the miniatures! We hope to continue working on the Eternal Dynasties in 2024! Regarding your question, all our infantry miniatures are -unless stated otherwise- in 20mm square bases. These miniatures are in 20mm square bases too. Although we hope for standarized 25mm square bases in the future as it leaves more freedom to sculptors to create more dynamic and interesting miniatures!

I wasn't going to have Tomb kings, but now I've got these great STL's it seems silly not, they surely can't take that long to paint any way....

Loving everything with the exception of the horses. Understand that one must make concessions for printability but they, to me, have the issue that I see on a lot of Skeleton horses in STL format - disproportionately massive hooves. Still don't think GW's plastic horses have been bettered for proportions and those are 34 years old.
Glad you like the miniatures Paul and thank you for your input! You don't have to only take into account printability but also stability and durability of the models in the long term. As we can not control the printing procedures and set up of our customers, we have to sculpt the miniatures to cover a wide range of possibilities of use to ensure a long term playability of the miniatures even with the use of cheap or low quality resins.
Are there bows somewhere on chariots? I see quivers with arrows but no bows.
Had to take a good look! You are correct, the quivers are there. I guess the arm-with-bow from the archers unit will do then!

I love how you manage to nail so much of the old aesthetics, I know some of these will absolutely be getting printed up for my TK army. Probably the only thing I note is that the shields appear to be flat faced, rather than curved? Really stood out to me and I wondered if that was a deliberate choice.
Hi there! Glad you like the miniatures! Regarding your question, the shields are slightly curved if you see them from the top view, but not too much as it is easier this way to attach them to the arms of the skeletons. Also, the vast majority of historical illustrations and depictions of these egyptian shields show them as flat shields. Thank you for your support!
