February 2023 4th Preview: Dwarf Engineers!

Quick post today in Highlands Miniatures just to showcase our male and female hero Dwarf Engineers miniatures.

The male Dwarf Engineer holds a hand-powered automatic hammer used for assembling the big metal and wood pieces required to create the incredible and sophisticated dwarf war machines and inventions, and a double barrel dwarf pistol.

And here you can see the female Dwarf Engineer carrying a big double barrel handgun and a bagpack full of indispensable tools for the battle.

Even tho we are trying our best to finish the February 2023 Release before the end of the month, due to the incredible amount of singular work being created for this upcoming month we are not entirely sure that we will be able to make it on time for a final preview before January ends. If this is finally the case, stay tuned at the beginning of February for the final preview: the Dwarf Flying machines!

Remember guys, the February 2023 Release will be composed of:

  • 4x Dwarf Firespitters Core miniatures

  • 3x Dwarf Firespitters Command Groupminiatures

  • 1x Male Dwarf Runepriest

  • 1x Female Dwarf Runepriest

  • 2x Dwarf Runemaster

We are trying our best. It is always a challenge to create female miniatures, but we believe it is totally worth it!

So I just want to say something here. I know there is always the pressure to offer more and more in these Patreons and some places like OPR offer crazy amounts of models each month but there is a LOT to be said about quality over quantity. Right now, you could pick any one single model you’ve previewed for February and I would be happy to pay the monthly asking price to get it. That’s how consistently excellent these models are. I’m seeing the Dwarf models everywhere online these days too. Every time someone posts some pics there are immediately people commenting about how incredible these models are and asking where they are from. Just saying this release is mind blowing in scope AND quality. You may just be riding a creative high right now but hoping you don’t burn yourself out. Anything you do is worth waiting for. I wouldn’t sweat it maybe taking a few extra days. All that being said I cannot wait for February. My Saturn 2 8K just showed up and my dedicated printing room should be ready to roll in a week or two, and I’ll be printing these beauties at a quality they deserve to be showcased at!

As always, thank you very much for your kind words and for your honest opinion Karsten, we are super glad the Sons of Ymir are having this lovely welcome in the entire community and it is always great to see how other people outside the 3D printing hobby is being "drafted" to it because of our miniatures. And you are totally right, and like Tonny said in a few comments above, there seems to be a trend right now where single creators -like us- need to offer more and more every month in order to compete with the big guys out there, and the ones not falling into this trap are being crushed by insane amount of miniatures being releases by all creators every single month. It isn't a healthy way to work in the long run for sure but we are -slowly- in the path of finding our own way to continue developing Highlands Miniatures into something to be proud of and into something that can endure in time, to avoid being swallowed by this insane vortice of monthly set of miniatures after another where they only survive for a couple of weeks before being pushed to a dark corner from where they won't be seeing again. Just as a gimplse of what we are talking about, at this very moment we are working on our own web page where we will focus all our future fantasy universe development, the future fantasy campaigns -the main goal of Highlands Miniatures in the long run-, the lore of the fantasy races and armies and many more things. Thank you again for your support Karsten!

Very nice designs, I especially like the hairstyle of the female engineer

Thank you Chris! The idea for the hair style is from an ancient stone sculpture from the Iberian culture: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_of_Elche

This has been the month I’ve turned 39 (I’m OLD) and I have had to see the doctor for my ears, for Covid, for a stomach issue… and right now, printing a few dwarf hero’s and a flying machine are my final hopes for the next month. Heck, if this is how 39 is going, next years got my number.

You are not old my friend, the forties and the new thirties! A bit of healthy food and healthy exercise and you will be rocking for many, many years ❤️

Looking good! But you shouldn't include so much stuff for one release. This release would already be perfect with the flying machines reserved for another month. ;-)

Thank you Tonny! It will take us a while till continue working on the Sons of Ymir, so we wanted to make a big push with some special miniatures this February, but yeah, we truly need to slow down a little bit! haha

Thank you very much! It is always a challenge to create dwarf female miniatures but they deserve all the effort!
