February 2023 1st Preview: The Sons of Ymir are back!
The Sons of Ymir are back! Some of you seemed to be a bit worried about the future of the Sons of Ymir and if we were to continue working on this amazing fantasy race. As we have said many times, the answer is yes!
And today, just as an appetizer of this upcoming February 2023 Release in Highlands Miniatures: Sons of Ymir Vol. 6...
But first... you will be wondering right now what will come to Highlands Miniatures this next February, right? Well, you don't have to keep wondering any more. This is the incredible Sons of Ymir set coming next month. It is going to be amazing!
The February 2023 Release will be composed of:
4x Dwarf Firespitters Core miniatures
3x Dwarf Firespitters Command Groupminiatures
1x Male Dwarf Runepriest
1x Female Dwarf Runepriest
2x Dwarf Runemaster
1x Great Dwarf Runemaster
2x Runemaster Apprentices
1x Ancient Dwarf Forge
1x Male Dwarf Engineer
1x Female Dwarf Engineer
1x Dwarf Flying Machine
1x Heavy Dwarf Flying Machine
Now, let's take a closer look at the Dwarf Firespitters Unit, starting with these three (3) Dwarf Firespitter Command Group composed of one Dwarf FIrespitter captain, one Dwarf Firespitter musician and one Dwarf Firespitter bannerman.
And here you can see the four (4) -well, five to be more specific- Dwarf Firespitters Core miniatures.
Now we are currently working on the male and female Dwarf Runepriest hero miniatures, that will be able to showcase very soon. Stay tuned!

This looks amazing! A big fan of the female engineer. Love the direction you are taking. Any possibility of you doing a steam drill for the miners? Keep up the fantastic work!
Biggest bananas in the dwaf market....niceee
You guys don't miss, huh?
Those are really fantastic, and I think they would look great in dark brown leather with bronze armor.
I love to see female units being added it. Your slowly filling in the gaps that GW should have done years ago.
Amazing. Especially thrilled to get a female Engineer in this style.
More female heroes/units are always a yes please.
terrific stuff as usual! any chance we'll get also some mounted dwarf unit? it would be very useful for those playing kings of war
Glad you like them Luther! Yes, we will see more dwarf miniatures including a mounted dwarf unit in the future! :)
These look wonderful. I think those are the last figures you'd need to round out the regular dwarves from old Warhammer if you wanted to use them in that way. My only question is if you have kings of war stand ins as something you thought of. I'm not annoyed either way and it won't affect my patronage, but I want to know if I should look to other creators for those prints, as I'd rather stick to your stuff for my army as much as possible.
Hi Raymond, glad you like the miniatures! About your question, we still have many more dwarf miniatures to bring to Highlands Miniatures, like mounted dwarfs, more medieval dwarfs and many more things, not only to be able to use them in other games but to keep expanding the fantasy universe of Highlands Miniatures!
looks amazing 馃憤 I'm still hoping for a few more slayers maybe like a dwarf slayer engineer with his crew and a "goblin-hewer" to fight against the january release goblins or some dwarfen slayer doomseekers
Glad you like them Daniel! Maybe in the future we can bring something in that line as a Patreon Goal :)
This brings back such happy memories of burning blobs of gobbos underground on Total war warhammer 2. And a few of my units...
haha you always have to be careful with the friendly fire! Glad you like them! :)
That is a crazy amount of awesomeness in one month馃く馃憦馃憦 Cant wait to see what the next models look like. You guys are incredible, amazing work馃コ馃憤
Thank you very much Christoffer! Glad you like the miniatures, we are trying our best with our new fantasy races to bring more awesome miniatures to the table 馃コ
YES! Finally a Forgewarden/Irondrake unit that's close to classic IB's in appearance. I love the nod to the old flamethrower team as well, what a happy surprise! <3
Glad you like them Wolfy! It is going to be an amazing February release for sure!
Wow that list, next month is going to be a crazy release
It is indeed, and quite fun too!

Glad you like them Rinky! We are excited too! It is always quite fun to work on machines and other terrain pieces aside from the main miniatures.
They just look straight up badass.

Glad you like them Karsten! It is going to be an amazing February, we are sooo excited about the flying machines!
Excellent! :-D
Amazing, more sons of ymir. Gotta print them all. Do you plan on making a Tank later down the line? I like the total war dwarf siege ram design a lot
Thank you Chris!! I don't think it will fit the aesthetic of the Sons of Ymir as they are, but we have a couple of plans to dig into the medieval dwarf line of miniatures and a steam tank would fit quite well for them!
馃ぉ馃ぉ馃ぉ Sons of Ymir馃檶馃従馃檶馃従馃檶馃従 this range keeps going from Strength to Strength!
Thank you very much Remi!! And more awesome things will come for this mighty dwarfs in the future!
Interested to see what the flying machines will look like - helicopter? Dirigible? Something else? I'm hoping that one of these months we'll get Norse Arkanauts.
The flying machines will be more in the side of the copter thingy rather than a big air balloon, but we are still in the sketch design process so who knows how they will finally look like!
HELL YEAH!!! FOR YMIR!!!
It is going to be an incredible release for sure! Glad you like them Adam :)
