Dec/Jan Patreon Exclusive: Saint Helena and St. Helen's Cathedral!
Good evening guys! ⚔️
First of all, hope you all are having a great Christmas and holidays in general, spending some time with the family and friends, and of course... the hobby! 😋
Today we want to show you a very special thing we have been working on the last few days, that will be the December and January Patreon Exclusive "miniature". We are plesed to present you Saint Helena, The Savior of the Broken, and the St. Helen's Cathedral. 🏛️
The idea behind this Patreon Exlcusive was to keep working on the background story of the Empire of Sun's religion, and to complement the Inquisitorial Band and the Fanatical Zealots from this December Release. Saint Helena will be one of the main saints that will be venerated by the citizens of the Empire of Sun. This "faith-based" religion will be split in different divisions / distinct religious bodies, with their own warriors followers units. For Saint Helena we will see a full female nun warriors unit in the future.
For Saint Helena we have try to implement again some photogrammety techniques to allow us capture the amazing quality of real sculptures. In that case, this sculpture is based on the an angel at the cemetery in Purkersdorf, Austria. Let us know in the comments if you would like to see some videos about photogrammetry for 3D printing!
Also, as you can see in one of the preview images, the size of this sculpture is quite big, but you will be able to print Saint Helena with any resin printer you have.
We also wanted to create a big bulding as a display piece to accompany Saint Helena, so we look for Gothic Cathedrals references and we saw the amazing Bayeux's cathedral from France, the one we have been using as main reference for the St Helen's Cathedral due to its amazing design but also to its perfect balance between details and simple areas.
Unlike Saint Helena, the St Helen's Cathedral it is designed and will be split in pieces for bigger resin printers, like the Elegoo Saturn, the Anycubic Mono X and so on. We decided to go that way because we want to create a really big building to represent the magnificence of this Cathedral, similar to the real cathedrals from our world. The Cathedral comes split in some modular pieces so you can create some variations with the files as you can see in the last two preview images, or create your own design!
The files are available in the Drive Archive, and will be available for both December and January patrons at the end of January through MyMiniFactory.
We will make one more post in a couple of days talking about the miniatures from the January Release and, of course, the final design for the Steam War Machine that will come in January!
Hope you like it guys. We read you as always! ❤️

Hello , is there a Assembly guide for the Cathedral ?
any update on the cathedral?
It is uploaded in the Drive Archive, inside the January Release folder, and will be available through MMF at the end of the month :)
Loving your work and enjoying the subscription. I used to be a sculptor for Ral Partha back in the eighties and nineties. they went under as the 3D market grew and many of the sculptors were of an age that they found it difficult to retrain. I had a career change in 1999 and became a teacher. I have retired now and started tinkering (literally) with 3D CAD. I'm mostly working on mechanical designs and would love to share some with you to get some feedback. I realise this may not be the right place to discuss this, so I apologise if I have stepped on anyone's toes or seemed rude. I just wasn't sure where to start. Anyway, loving your designs and especially the aesthetics and looking forward to the steam cannon.
Hi Chris! Don't worry about that, you can always ask any question you have about the Patreon, the sculpts or the 3D world. We are here because we love it, so we also love to talk about that! If you have Discord, you can join us there and we can talk about that and all the questions you may have about 3D sculpting! :D
Ah brilliant thank you
Beautiful statue, when will this be available for download?
Today! :D
Question when exactly do you get this statue/cathedral? I'm a Patreon for January but not for December???
Hi! The files are still being pre-supported and tested. They will be available in the Archive, and later send through MMF for both December and January patrons :)
This is lovely. Has there been a preview of next month yet?
Thank you Martin! This afternoon we will make a post about next month! :D
Love it. I am starting to like more and more terrain pieces than armies...
Another 5 or so "similar" pieces and one could print a set of Chess pieces. Really nice sculpts!
That is a super cool idea, to create a chess set with some of the miniatures!
Working on my terrain right now, and this fits in very well. Glad this came along. Cheers!!
Thank you Jason! We would love to see the take of the patrons on this piece!
I love the statue! And while the scale and scope of the Cathedral is amazing i feel perhaps that it looks a bit bland. Most cathedrals have ornaments and gargoyles and are very intricate. I appreciate that it would be an enormous task to design an entire cathedral but it might need something more...
Thank you Christoffer! We have chosen the Bayeux's cathedral from France basically because of its more simplistic design compared to some other gothic cathedrals. This is the first time we have created a big building for resin printers, so we wanted to make it "simple" to have more control over the modularity and the printing process. If everything goes well and patrons give us a good feedback about printing these kind of big things in resin printers, we will try to start creating more complicated buildings :D
Super cool as always. If it’s not too much trouble, could you maybe cut a couple of the details of the cathedral to fit on a resin printer? Like just a window, the top of the buttresses and the little decretive parts? I don’t understand 3d modeling so if it’s a lot of background work I understand not doing it.
Thank you Nicholas! All the Cathedral pieces are designed to fit in the big resin printers like the Elegoo Saturn, the Anycubic Mono X or that kind of resin printers. But the "second floor" of the Cathedral, like the smaller walls with the window and the small archs already fit in small resin printers, like the Anycubic Photon/ Elegoo Mars standard size :D
It is so beautiful
Thank you very much Johan!
Amazing work! Can't wait to print this!
Thank you very much Piotr! We are anxious to print it too!
I love the worn/weathered look! It is enough to identify it as aged without taking away from the beauty of the sculpt! Thanks!
Thank you very much Kevin! Glad you like the sculpture!! :D
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for this.
Thank you very much Karsten! <3
Really nice, will be my (stationary) sacred Relic for the new Kingdom of Equitaine :o And A question: when will the release appear on mmf? / is the inq band already downloadable somewhere?
Thank you very much, glad you like them! The monthly files appears in MMF at the very end of the month, when we gather all the emails from patrons and we send the redeem option, so you will be able to see the December files in your MMF the first or second day of January. The Inquisitorial Band isn't uploaded yet to the Drive folder, we hope to have the pre-supported files by wednesday :D
Truly excellent. Im really glad to see more terrain
Thank you very much Ben! We have done this Cathedral to start testing the resin printers for buldings and more terrain pieces. We really want to bring more terrains to the Patreon!
Hui, really nice. With my little Photon Mono there will be no way to print the whole Cathedral, but one could make ruins of those nice gothic Pillars. For the statue: I really like your catch of the Germanic baroque, even as it fit more the hussars than the renaissance Sunlanders. (Too much historic nerd I am and the Statue is too modern) maybe the next would be based on the Italian renaissance? ;)
Thank you very much Alexander! You can always split the Cathedral files to make it printable with the Photon Mono, but it would take you a very long time to print the entire Cathedral (the back of the Cathedral we have created). We would love to work on more statues soon, so any references you want to show us feel free to send them to us through Discord or here! :D
Great job! Would love to see how you did the photogrammetry for 3d printing!
Thank you Tim! We would love to do some videos about photogrammetry as many of us live in cities with plenty of sculptures, specially located in cementeries or other old and historical buildings! :)
Beautifull. :-)
Thank you very much Peter!
thanks, now I have to go to Purkersdorf :D
Thank you Michael! It seems to be a beautiful place!
wow that statue is amazing!
Thank you very much Joris!!
My first fdm print was your original crypt. So I look forward to printing the cathedral when it's done!
Thats a really excellent "Saintly" statue and rear section of a Gothic Cathedral, and quite a nice surprise, but will there eventually be files to complete the sides and front of the Cathedral as well?
Thank you Daniel! We would love to complete the Cathedral in the near future, creating the main door and the front area of the Cathedral, including some big tower! :D
For the Cathedral optimise it for fdm printing rather than resin!
We though about that, but the vast majority of patrons have only resin printers instead of FDM machines, and we have the feeling that the buildings and other diorama pieces are moving from the FDM background to the resin one (slowly), but anyaways you can probably print it with a FDM machine without too much trouble :D
Awesome Cathedral! Could you make it as a ruined building as well? 🙏 And that statue is just stunning! Looking forward to see these Sisters of Sigm... eh nuns of Helena...😀
Thank you very much Benjamin!! It would be great to destroy the Cathedral in the future and offer it as ruins! :D
Just wow
Thank you Sven!! :D
