The Last Stand - September Patreon Exclusive! - DOWNLOAD LINK

Good evening guys! ⚔️

Today we have the pleasure to present you the first heroe of many to come from the Empire of Sun, a Battle Standard Bearer on foot.

Usually we don't have the time to work on showcase and diorama pieces because of this "mass production" system that Patreon normally push us, but this time we really wanted to create something more artistic in some way.

We have put a lot of passion and love into this piece, taking inspiration from many battles and sieges from the 15th and 16th century, and more specifically from the Eighty Years' War, where many cities fell under the clash of the renaissance empires.

This diorama piece, The Last Stand, the September 2021 Patreon Exclusive, come with round and square bases, and also with separated dead bodies for your own purposes. The files are being pre-supported and they'll be available soon.

Very soon we'll have the first news for this upcoming October Release... Get ready for the spookiest month ever! 🧛🏻

Hope you like it as much as we do guys. We read you as always! ❤️

I especially appreciate adding the plain version. I love the gryphon, but with it only on one side of the banner, I printed the plain

Matt Austen · September 29, 2021

Will it just be in the normal Google drive when it's up?

Real heroic, please keep up your work. I know that the pressure of a lot of figures each month is high, but in my opinion it is better allways more quality as qunatity. I support your work becouse of the wonderfull regiments due the fact that I´m a real fan of big fantasy armies not just only a few but every month a different theme.

H

That's utterly gorgeous! A dumb question (hope you don't mind), modern banners/flags are typically double sided - the same design on both side of the fabric - was this not the case back with banners from around the 80 years war?

H
Highlands Miniatures · September 23, 2021

Thank you Martin! Actually, it is hard to say because the only banners that you can see nowadays from that time are in museums, usually attached to the wall, and you can only see the side with details on it. For example, in the page of the MET museum you can see a good collection of banners, but you can only see one side of it: https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/26941 https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/26948 https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/25655 https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/26943 I suppose that if the details are embroidered on it, they're only on the "front" side of the flag. But it is definitely a good question!

"...because of this "mass production" system that Patreon normally push us...", not a fan of Patreon then I guess?

H
Highlands Miniatures · September 22, 2021

Oh no, don't get us wrong. We love Patreon, it is the perfect platform to create a community, to make everything more colaborative and to support artist, instead of a simple store (as we have said many times before, we don't see us as a store, we are just a couple gamer who create art for wargames). But there is also a reality out there, that you have to put an insane number of quality STL files each month to be competitive, where small artist have a really tough time to compete with long stablised companies. I remember a year or two ago, when the releases from almost every Patreon out there were just five or six miniatures. Time changes, I guess haha
