Marduk Mortar and Rocket Launcher

Why use wheels when you have humans? That was probably the idea behind the litters -or palanquin-, a human-powered transport vehicle used from the ancient times until quite recently. It was also used to transport relics in public, frequently in procession, as during state ceremonial or religious festivals.

That's also the idea behind the body of these artillery pieces, ornated with some winged lions, a symbol of power found in many cultures, from ancient Mesopotamia to Egyptian, Persian, and biblical contexts.

These artillery pieces -the mortar and the rocket- are treated as relics, venerated pieces of destruction. We have put an special focus on the distinction of these two elements, while both share the same frame.

The Sons of Marduk Mortar and Sons of Marduk Rocket Launcher are designed over a 50x75mm square base.

Here you can see some of the references that have inspired us to design these miniatures.
