September 2025 Preview: Call of the Forest

Call of the Forest

A new set of Feral Elves miniatures will arrive to Highlands Miniatures this September 2025.

We continue with the development of this new fantasy race with the perfect set to complement your elves core troops: dryads, forest golems and a big, big tree!

If you are into trees, you'll have a blast this upcoming month!

We also have a little surprise for you guys. While we were working on all the trees coming next month we also found the time to sculpt a female Feral Elf Druid that will be included next month for all subscribers!

Bring these forest spirits to your tabletop and let the forest rise!

The September 2025 set of miniatures will be composed by:

• 9x Dryads

• 1x Dryad Spirit

• 4x Forest Golem

• 1x Forest Golem Shepherd

• 1x Giant Tree

• 1x Female Feral Elf Druid

I have never sculpted this much wood in my life, so I guess there is always a first time for everything. The Forest Golems were a bit hard to conceptualize as they are essentially a bunch of wood pieces on the move. I tried to blend it with some stones and roots and give them the appearance of a monstruous creature with a feral soul behind it.

But the big challenge has been the Giant Tree. To find the right amount of detail on a massive scale -it is quite a big piece as you can see in the images below- while rendering wood in order to make it believable is a good sculpting excercise for sure. I had the image of the head more clear in my mind, but the body has been an ongoing experiment blending the human anatomy with branches, roots and wood parches. In all fairness, as my first big monster creature of this kind I'm quite happy with the final result. I hope you guys like it!

The Great Tree is designed over a 50x50mm square base.

The Forest Golems are designed over a 40x40mm square base.
