VidCon Update

Hello Brains & Hearts!

Jessica really wanted to go to VidCon this year and hang out with you there, and she had every intention of doing so. However, between being a new Mom and having a rather tight budget at the moment, she just wasn't able to pull it off. New Mom life is a toughie.

Thank you for all your support and understanding as Jessica (and we, the team!) figure out new Mom life and all that it entails (and requires!).

It would have been great to see you there, but family comes first! Hopefully future Jessica will be able to make it to a future VidCon!

I look at my teenager and remember when I was a new parent so I wish Jessica all of the best and look forward to her finally being able to get a full night's sleep.

Hang in there, Jessica! My husband and I are huge music fans and when we had our first, we had to stop going to concerts because baby needs came first. You never realize how a person so tiny can wipe out your bank account SO fast! It took a few years to get back to seeing the occasional concert (because our oldest is special needs), but we found plenty of opportunities to see shows WITH the kids. Something that helped my ADHD brain is that I created a separate savings account for travel and concerts. Each time I started a new job, the bump in salary got funneled to that account. When I get raises, half goes to the retirement, and the other half goes to the travel/music savings. It's a trick I learned right after my official ADHD diagnosis, and long before your YouTube channel. As a content creator, you don't have traditional paychecks, but tucking away $25 or $50 bucks when you're paid by YouTube or Patreon into a separate account makes it so that you can attend next year. The beauty of VidCon and ComicCon is that they're in your general area AND they're kid friendly (unlike rock concerts). Hope hearing how someone else figured out how to do it helps you to find your way to go next year. Suzanne
