Oooooh after that I’m even more excited and nervous to see what happens when the truth about Elias comes out.

Remi · July 3, 2026

Let me have 5 minutes with daddy.

D
DragonKing · July 3, 2026

dad of the year right there. dude sucks

G

Fulim seems like a nice guy. Father of the Year material right there.

"Clan Wildfire is the tooth and claw of the Dragon race." Buddy, you sure as hell ain't the brains of the outfit...

J
Jobac901 · July 2, 2026

Heh. Father of the year. XP

Something tells me that the humans are going to get a new - draconic - resident soon enough.

C
Copper Azide · July 1, 2026

I was thinking a blue haired defender

R
Riot Riverman · July 1, 2026

Jesus, with family like that who needs enemies. On another note I wonder just how bullet resistant Furik's kneecaps are.

Foxy Amaterasu · July 1, 2026

Ouch...... Flare's father is a bigger asshole than I thought. If he ever found out Flare might have actual feelings for Elias, he'd probably incinerate him and disown Flare. Now she has to send Elias away. I'm sure that's gonna be a blow to both their hearts. I kinda wonder if any children between Flare and Elias would be powerful or not? Or if they'd be half dragon half demons? Lol. This 4 page releases was a real treat! Thanks a ton Fafnir Fenn and I hope ye have an amazing Summer Vacay!!!

C
Copper Azide · July 1, 2026

If she has to send him away, there's this human settlement nearby... I don't think our blue haired protagonist would sit idly by and let a band of Reds burn down half the place. (Per the author, offspring between humans and dragons doesn't happen without a lot of intervention.)

Foxy Amaterasu · July 1, 2026

Pick

R
Rolland Therrien · July 1, 2026

Yeah, I forsee this little "punitive raid" to go catastrophically wrong. The human settlers wouldn't be this bold unless they know they have a way of protecting themselves against the dragons.

C
Copper Azide · July 1, 2026

Imagine if a certain blue haired human is temporarily residing in said settlement when the attack occurs...

Man Humanity really can't get a break in this setting. I'm surprised that some group hasn't gone atleast partially imperium of man and told all the other races to go kick rocks. Because being treated like dirt like this has to be building some resentment out there.

C
Copper Azide · July 1, 2026

See: Newts.

c
csongor242 · June 30, 2026

Yay! Even more maps! Closer up this time. I really need some details on the layout of the land.

Enjoy your break! ❤️❤️❤️

PkmnTrainerLucas · June 30, 2026

It's ironic how Furik celebrates Savrotas considering he clearly doesn't agree with the lesson of Savoritus that dragons abusing their power to take without measure leads to less for all, isn't it? But I guess it's just like selfish and greedy people celebrating Christmas just for the gifts.

K
Kasia Sundreamer · June 30, 2026

Ooof. Can't say I'm a fan of Flare's Dad. Honestly, this episode is hitting a little too close to home for me. Hang in there Flare, I'm pulling for you.

Xander Everflame · June 30, 2026

Dude is very “hot headed” like his cap is about to blow if she disagrees with him about anything. Just wait till he meets the young man

C
Copper Azide · June 30, 2026

Furik only recognizes physical strength. He's going to be sore and tired when he faces an opponent that doesn't need brute strength to defend their self. How long can his fight last against someone capable of fighting smarter? Hope Furik gets a swift and exasperating lesson.

T
TheGoldenToad · June 30, 2026

Thanks for being awesome Faf! Have a great break even if you left us on a sour note in the story 😉. I can't wait for Elias to make her dad eat his words and some humble pie.

C
Copper Azide · June 30, 2026

Furik wants to burn half the human settlement? I'm really starting to understand why the Newts would align themselves with a Demon.

I
ItCameFromTheSkyBeLo · June 30, 2026

Hey Flare. Instead of saying what Elias ISNT! Maybe try saying what he is!!??

C
Copper Azide · June 30, 2026

Alchemist, Runesmith, Inventor, Polyglot, Genius.* (*) May be known for other traits.

D
Djodjow · June 30, 2026

Can't wait for Flare's "pet" to show him and every other red that strength isn't everything, especially against a giant fireproof wyrm xD

E
Eternus · June 30, 2026

Man the Wildfire clan is just a bunch of assholes

A
Andrew Frisina · June 30, 2026

He's been forced to realize that not everything can be resolved with a display of dominance. That also means the wyrm has been plaguing his mind for days. This isn't about Flare and this isn't about honor. Bro is starting to crash out because he knows he doesn't have the strength to truly resolve everything. What he grew up believing and being taught has collapsed through the roof. It's not enough, it's never been enough. And he's having to realize that the people he was raised by were wrong and/or he was never good enough to lead in the first place and he failed his ancestors. He's carrying a lot of weight. He's being forced to change how he approaches things, but he's desperately trying to hold onto the old way. The fact is he's not wrong, you DO need reputation on some level. But reputation is more than power, it is also responsibility and accountability. And you cannot resolve the last two with power in all ways. And sometimes for the sake of the future true power is in the ability to adapt and commiserate and find new avenues through smart thinking rather than brute force. Especially since combat itself eventually falls off the cliff and offers diminishing returns when it comes to basic strength. Eventually you need smarts to advance your training regimen, to excel in technique, and to push yourself even further beyond. Imagine understanding your own flames to the point you can coat your claws with it and rend through the toughest materials by melting them under your sweeps. The issue is: he took "reputation is everything," "power dominates all," and he was forced to realize that at the end of the day: the world and all things that exist within it are not that simple. Had he been forced to actively strive for dominance against other races beyond the humans he would have learned this far sooner. But while actively giving his all into this single-minded idea of power and leadership, he failed to recognize what the dragons before him had built to make sure that his clan had a footstone in the world in the first place. He's just a child doing his best at the end of the day, doing what his parents expected of him and taught him to do. That's what every kid who grows up tries to do. Some kids cannot match that and need to find other methods. And eventually, inevitably, the kids who so easily emulated their parents learn that mere emulation was not enough; you have to truly understand it down to the bare foundationals why what they did worked for as long as it did in the first place, and you are forced to evolve. To honor tradition and our ancestors is not to abide them one for one, but to understand the lessons they offer to us as we proceed into an ever changing, ever complexifying future. In moments like these? You need unknown variables. You need a miracle. And sometimes they fall right into your lap.

e
edliwstaht · June 30, 2026

It does seem he is learning (rather harshly) that leadership doesn't care what you value only how you react to the next problem

T
Tentomon4 · June 30, 2026

Perfect cliffhanger, my dude.

S
Shane Cyberdragon · June 30, 2026

Wow, what an asshole. I can see where he's coming from but the more you push away, the more not just your children but your own race starts to resent you. Measure Flare by the Dragon shes become and not by the dragon HE wants her to be.

C
Copper Azide · July 1, 2026

Long lived species seem to believe that the world should not change. Burning that settlement will guarantee his world changes for the worse. Not immediately, certainly, but the threat will be far worse and more personal than a calamitous wurm.

B
Brenda Huetson · June 30, 2026

I want elias to go Broly on him so bad right now. Have a half blood "power up" and punch dude in the face!

C

I think Flare needs to make a decision about Elias. And be true to her feelings. Also, I think Flare could do well without her clan. I don't like her father. At all.

Them be fighting words Furik! That stink eye flare gave him at the start of page 3 was great though!😂
