Given how the demons are all about silliness, fun, joy, intensity, an intimate understanding of death and decay and how it affects the psyche over time (I'd assume), and rebellion. Even if not all of them are good I'm guessing a lot of them went to the extreme end of the rebellion pool primarily because they themselves got tired of EVERYone's issues and started to get uppity about it and no one liked that. Like yeah sure Elias' father was an amazing man. But the other villagers would probably drive anyone to murder. Now imagine stuff like that in draconic power structures, among other things, and shit hidden under the surface. It'd drive you absolutely batty wouldn't it? You'd go insane, and if everyone is willing to just suit themselves you'd kind of rather just do that but be honest about it from the start rather than just *pretend* to be part of a larger order that stands for something bigger than itself. So like Elias' father if you are someone who does stand for something bigger than yourself, even if you don't always fit in with the others of your kind despite that, it's going to be extremely attractive to a jaded demon right?
People who assume icy folk don't have emotions are strange to me. They're just extremely composed and have a difficult time expressing themselves. No one, NO ONE is inherently unemotional. Blaze reminds me of an old OC of mine by the name of Saway.
