The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 9 (UNEDITED REACTION!)

I love at the end in the car Tyreese saw the good people (including Lizzie not mentally anymore) telling him it is alright now. The Governor and the Terminus guy were not there. There are a couple times in this show that they say people have a purpose and we all have impact on others.
Oh No 22:26 If You Know You Know
Turn it off
I had forgotten that Beth and Ty were btb episodes. I only remembered when he was staring at the photos on the wall. I wasn’t ready
This is hands down the most depressing episode R.I.P Tyreese
Crying is healing Tom.
During the intro unc fighting grief. And when he said please no more trauma I smiling 😈
sometimes I need breaks from TWD. its just to much
This show is going to give Tom disorganized attachment lmao
Such a silly episode 😭😭😭 why did they even kill him off like this? So pointless. I started getting really frustrated at this point in the show, just felt like wtf are we doing??
It's a beautiful episode, but such an awful thing to lose Tyrese. I totally agree with you about your take on his character. He was a genuinely good person who tried and cared and felt a lot. Poor Sasha. Poor Noah for losing his family. :((
Also, just a really neat little tidbit. The moments with Tyreese as he's hallucinating the people they lost...the scene is VERY much like Six Feet Under. Since it's a show about a family run funeral home, they talk to whichever random person died that day as a way to air out their mental and emotional grievances. The corpses will literally just be hanging out in different parts of the rooms/embalming room while talking with pretty much everyone in the house, depending on the person's struggles at the time. It's a common quirk of the show and it's able to convey so much in such a clever way. Michael C Hall plays a gay man who is also a deeply passionate man of faith. He struggles with his status and has some self hatred to work through, so when a victim of a hate crime ends up in the funeral home to be worked on, he's able to really work through his issues by imagining these conversations. The show puts a lot of love and care into the characters, even the strangers who passed.
Tyreese was such a good man. It broke me seeing them pull over. I had delusional hopes that he would somehow pull through even though we know what happens with bites that can't be amputated. 😭
I think you should get some party poppers for the intro dance whenever you aren't quite feeling the energy.. that will bring the energy right back 🤣 It only gets worse unfortunately, this show. At one point, I had stopped watching it. I havent seen past season 7 I think it is or 8. But when that time comes ill be watching for the first time also with you
Also the actor that played Tyreese smashed his performance in this …. One of the best
Andrew Lincoln who plays Rick is the voice on the radio, him doing his British accent. Also did you know that the radio playing is talking about the groups movement through the series and its documenting the groups brutality and how its got worse.
I think this is the hardest episode to watch, makes me tear up every time. I do think it’s beautiful and the way listening to the radio is the hard cost of living and when he said “turn it off because he can’t keep fighting”. I’ve been looking forward to Tom watching this so I can hear his view. This episode wasn’t that well received but i think it’s definitely in the top 10 episodes of the entire show.
Tyreese was genuinely one of the most difficult characters for me to lose on my first watch bc I genuinely just believed he'd be there until the end. he wasn't a MAIN main member of the crew, but he was a steady, stable, formidable force, like Abraham but with more emotional intelligence and a less-short fuse 😅 Tyreese is such a criminally underrated character who gets overlooked imo bc in the grand scheme of the show, he's not around anywhere NEAR as long as other characters are/doesn't have as big/memorable of an arc as others, but he was GOOD. just a good man. completely and utterly. through and through. there's so many times through the rest of this show I've found myself thinking "we could handle this if we had Tyreese" 🙏🏻😭 your devastation was real, felt, and powerful - we've all been there and we're all here again right with you! 🩷
He was one of my favs, with his signature hammer smashing lol. I felt worse tyrees going than beth cos beth kind of got herself killed
David Morrisey (the governor) recently starred in a show called Tip Toe, it's 5 episodes long, well worth a watch
41 minute mark, yes Michone has a sense beyond survival instincts, she is will personified and that question, don't you want another day? Hits hard and shows that big heart of hers. Awesome character.
Governor appears and later turns into a walker, I for some dumb reason love that match cut. Goated corrosive episode.
I can't either Tom. I will miss him.
This one was one of the hardest episodes to watch in the whole series, at least for me! Thank you for the reaction, Tom!!!
Goodbye Tyreese :( not that I disliked him at all during my first watch through, but I've come to really love his character on this rewatch of the show.
I always liked tyrees, i really dont like noah's character I think mainly because he got him killed, runs off after receiving really good advice form tyrees 🙄could have helped him, or had his back but nope.. and Noah seemed to take the scenic route back to rick taking his sweet time.
TOM! NO ;A; As soon as you started talking about how you weren't looking forward to watching this episode, cus of how last episode ended, I had to pause and cry for you a little. This is such a ROUGH episode to watch, especially following after Beth's death. ;A;
Most toughest intro so far
Sending you hugs Tom, these writers are brutal! Got you in the first 60 seconds 😭🙏
Gonna miss Beth’s mental strength and her singing during those darker times. Good ol TWD
Son of a bitch I forgot about Tyrese this ep
the cinematography in this episode is soooo good (this whole season honestly) but the cuts and editing they did in this one is **chefs kiss** also i wasn't surprised by tyreese dying. he wasn't built for this world, which isn't a bad thing, it just is what it is. like micah said, it's better now.... for him. he doesn't have to struggle with how the world is or fight tooth and nail to keep who he is intact. not everyone is built for this world now and that's okay. but to answer your question, you'll never stop crying 😅 😬 i think certain things won't affect you as much as they used to in earlier seasons but things will happen that will still hit you emotionally. sidenote: i'm not sure if someone mentioned it yet or not but the walking dead title card deteriorates more each season. it's a nice lil detail showing the decay/rot over time
such a gorgeous episode
💯
not ready for this
the way tom goes from crying to dancing for the intro so quickly is amazing. we all needed that dance and energy tom, these episodes are ROUGH 😭
I think you're onto something, that speech that Michonne gave to Rick and Glenn really sounded like something Rick would have said in season 1 or maybe 2. Probably something they really needed to hear after going down the deep end this whole time
To help with locations, Atlanta ga. To Richmond va Øn a normal non apocalyptic time is about 8 hours. That’s where they were for Noah’s home is in Richmond. Richmond to dc is just under 2 hours.
As heartbreaking as this episode is it was so very well done
one of my favorite episodes bc of how it was filmed. SO good.
I think this is a new record for Tom on how early it takes for him to start tearing up 😿
Tom in this episode they are in Richmond, Virginia, which is really close to DC. That's where Noah lived, in Richmond. So the group has made the journey of over 500 miles between last episode and this one. This was beautifully shot, a nice send-off for Tyreese. And yes we are in a stretch of almost unmatched hardship for our group, you are right, they do need a place to really settle in. Being out there like they are, it's too much. And yes, this show really plays with your emotions. But, it says a lot about the show, that world, those characters, that it can evoke such feelings in people. It's a great, special series that many of us hold near and dear, so glad you love it so much too, Tom!
Saddest episode for me
There’s a little hint at it being Tyreese’s funeral in the beginning. The shot of Noah crying shows him having the scratch on his forehead he gets when he climbs through the wire fence to get to his family’s gated community before Tyreese is bit.
They don’t even give you time to grieve one character before they rip another one away! 😭 It’s emotionally exhausting...sometimes it makes the show so dang hard to watch!
This episode to me is one of the saddest in the series, we come off the death of Beth to our group traveling hundreds of miles to fulfill her wish of getting Noah home and its gone. The constant devastation is palpable, we keep losing people with profound compassion, wisdom and or a moral compass. Dale, Hershel, Bob and now Tyreese. Everything looks incredibly bleak and the group is losing hope but still continue to fight, not just to survive but live and thrive. I love this show, I don't think any other has made me feel so many emotions, love and hate this show man lol.
You its funny but I often think of who Shane would have become had he survived without Rick holding him back... love Shane or hate him i think he would have ended up being someone's villan. I wanna say a name but cant cuz spoilers.
Fun fact: It was Ricks acter (Andrew Lincoln) who was the voice on the radio!
Ahhh fun fact! Never knew 😚
Remember it’s not real therapy. Just Tom breaking down to The Walking Dead 😢
😭
Tissue time
Two deaths back to back is just devastating
Yes, Walking Dead Wednsday! Thanks for the uploads Tom, time to watch and see what happened and whats going on with our group!
