Progress Update: 08/06/26
Hello everyone 👋
Just wanted to give you guys an update on where I'm at with things.
PF Configurator Update
I have an update for PF Configurator that I'll probably be releasing later today. Just going over a few things and seeing what still needs to be addressed.
Spray Type Pack
Along with that, I'll be releasing this one too. Much like the Riverbend Test Map, this will be something you can either edit or use to see how to set up additional spray types with PF Config. No scripts in this one, just some common spray types you see on maps. Enabling it will give you access to those spray types on all maps, as long as PF Config is also enabled.
The spray types it adds are urea, starter, UAN-28, UAN-32, anhydrous ammonia, and liquid lime. This uses all base game assets, so the tanks and bags will look like the other vanilla ones, just holding one of the new spray types.
I should add that this will also work without PF Config once the next version of Advanced Map Features is ready. It'll have a more advanced version of PF Config built right into it, using the exact same configuration — so there's no need for a different version of the spray pack. This one will work as-is when that's ready.
Collection Changes
You may also notice the "Releases" collection has changed to "Downloads." This has been brought up a few times — people would like the actual download links all in one place, regardless of whether they're early access or not.
Patreon doesn't really have a way to separate downloads from posts — the downloads are posts, as far as Patreon's concerned. Normally I go into each collection after I post and drag the downloads to the top, so they end up all together in one spot.
For early access/WIP scripts, those will work the same as always, just easier to find. If you purchased the collection or are in the early access tier, you'll be able to access your content regardless of what other collections it's in.
So downloads will show up in their respective collection and in the Downloads collection. Tutorials or instructional content will be in their respective collection and in the Tutorials collection. Each collection will still have updates and progress notes as always. Hope that makes sense.
One More Thing
And you guys might hate me for saying this, lol, but it's the truth: writing things from scratch, answering questions, and organizing everything to be easy to find and follow takes a lot of time. I'm not copying or training on anyone else's work — whether you all want to believe that is up to you. This is all from my own head, as I figure things out and understand more about how the game itself works. It's a lot faster when that groundwork is already done and you're just piecing together new code based on what's already out there.
I'd rather know it, understand what I'm writing, and be slower, than make it fast and not know what to do when things change and there are no existing examples to follow.
But that's all for now. Look for some updates later today!
