yes Jack, the "AUTONOMOUS" is indeed an English dub thing, but the issue here is that "Ultra Instinct" is not named such in Japanese. The Japanese term for Goku's new form is "Migatte no Goku'i" which vaguely translates as "mastery of selfishness/Secret of Selfishness/Self-Movement/etc.." None of the words in that phrase mean "instinct" so even in the Japanese version when you see the word "instinct" in the subs, it is not referring to UI unless it explicitly says "(autonomous) ultra-instinct". They use the actual Japanese word for "instinct" or "reflex" in these cases. so basically, even in the original Japanese dialogue of the show they are not actually saying "Ultra Instinct."

"Autonomous" is indeed a dub thing, likely to match lip flaps. I agree though, people seem to complain about it far too much when it's pretty inoffensive, (not nearly as offensive and stupid as K-O-ken), as all it does is provide a more grandiose title. Besides, it's not as if everytime the characters refer to Ultra Instinct, they say the entire thing by name, thus ensuring there's no "Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan" problem.
