As mush as I love this arc, the one thing I hate is that only the pirates took loses, WB, Ace, Oars jr, while on the Marine side no one important died, besides some fodder marines, there was no major loses for them, at least have some of the Vice-admirals that we've seen since Enies Lobby die.

And so ends the best arc so far, close to the end of by far the best saga

You are correct in your observation Jack: that is indeed Law's sword (Kikoku) next to Luffy. There is an old Japanese warrior tradition, where at the end of a big battle survivors would stab their sword into the ground as a way to honour the fallen. On a submarine, that isn't quite possible, but having the sword stabbed into the floor next to Luffy like that is like a substitute for the battlefield; to show respect to Luffy and everyone who lost their lives. (Also, the misunderstanding in the second episode of who was being addressed at 20:54 and the joke born for it was hilarious. XD I really thought "Damn, well okay then, Jack is coming to that conclusion real quick, even as a joke" before it was cleared up, haha.)

An important thing to understand is that the Navy is not the same as the World Government, pretty much anyone that lives on Mary Geoise is above anyone in the Navy, including the admirals and Sengoku The Navy really wants to do Justice, it's the WG that's corrupted and since it's above, it kinda corrupts the Navy too

WB talked about the legendaries fights happening between Miwhawk and Shanks before he lost his dominant arm. I'm not sure if the actual reason of the end of their rivality was explained yet so i'm not gonna say anything but anyway when the first bounty of Luffy came out, Mihawk has visited Shanks showing they have a "friend/respect" relationship

Sengoku is pissed because the government would rather hide that the criminals escaped to save face instead of issuing a bounty to catch them. Therefore letting them go out and rampage on more innocent civilians.
