This is where I really fell in love with luffy as a character. His unabashed struggle to escape death and then his complete acceptance of death upon realizing he wasn’t able to free himself. I became a huge fan after that

Jack this is when you truly start to get the first taste of Oda's craftsmanship when it comes to planning and connecting story lines. Characters you thought were only in a single episode have returned in a big way. Many mysteries and hints are already being alluded. The world is ever evolving and along with the straw hat crew, all the players start to take the stage. I really hope you enjoy this amazing series because it only gets better from here.

Whenever you have a question, know that it has an answer but it probably won't be revealed to you for another couple hundred episodes lol. One Piece is really good at making you beg for answers that Oda doesn't plan on giving you for at least a few years lmao. Lucky for you, there's a lot to binge.

Just so you know, a couple characters from the filler are kinda carried over into the cannon parts of 55 and 61 (it'll be the ones who you don't know and are confused as to why he is there).
Unless of course you watch the filler as you go, in which case it would be less confusing (it doesn't matter too much which way you do it)
okay to sum up Luffy's power is simple. luffy's body is entirely made of rubber, so in gamer terms its his passive skill, it nullifies all blunt force trauma e.i. attacks, falls, you name it (absolutely broken). his rubber body is susceptible to sharp and pointy objects like blades, spikes, etc. and of course since he is a devil fruit user he is weak to water of a certain depth( not really clarified how much but yeah)
