I didn't support the idea of switching to manga at first, but honestly Elbaph's adaptation has been so dogshit due to the 1 chapter pacing and adding unnecessary stuff that I wholeheartedly boycott the anime now. Them brutalizing Saul like that anime-only while Robin just watches pissed me off, that didn't happen in the manga at all. Toei thinks they can wow us with AI animation that has 10,000 frames and dilute Oda's story by dragging it out more than Doflamingo's birdcage. I'm glad you're switching to the manga at this point. Now that you're a manga man you should consider reading Soul Eater the only reason the anime didn't take off is because the anime changed half the story, the Soul Eater manga is seriously ultra goated and will rake in the Fire Force fans.

do i like it more when you react live on anime episodes without knowing whats up ? yes .. but it wont stop me from watching plus im here for the bleach stuff too so maybe ill start the manga along side you

Exciting. I read the manga first and then watched the anime, and I still enjoy seeing the new episodes. I don't think having read it will kill the enjoyment of the show.

Yay! Very excited about this. Are you starting from Chapter 1? I personally think it'd be a great idea to start all the way at the beginning, for a few reasons. 1. Many moments in the manga are vastly superior in the anime. (To be fair, there are parts better in the anime than the manga as well, just significantly less) 2. Many moments in the manga are CENSORED or CUT in the anime. 3. You lose a LOT of the One Piece experience by never experiencing SBS, Cover Stories, and Cover Art. 4. I don't think anyone would complain about seeing more One Piece content in general here. At least for me, it's the main reason I subscribed to your Patreon (though I'm still here because of Jojo's now). If you don't want to start from the beginning now because you want to catch up, you could potentially catch up first, and THEN go back to the beginning. Just a suggestion. As someone who has read and watched One Piece dozens of times, there truly is just a huge difference in pacing, art, and quality between the manga and anime. Don't get me wrong, I started OP on the anime and I'll die defending it, but it's undeniable that the manga is just vastly superior as a work of art. I'd say that the worst arcs in the manga hover around a 6 or 7 out of ten, where the worst arcs in the anime hover around a 2 or a 3. The incredible detail and life in the art combined with the VASTLY better pacing makes for such a better experience. Anyway, regardless of how you do it, I'm excited for you to be caught up to the manga. The community can be annoying and unfunny at times due to how large it is but there's nothing quite like experiencing peak One Piece moments week to week with thousands of other people who are in on the hype.

i've been an anime only watcher since i was a kid, i caught up to the anime on episode 728's release, so its been like 11 years or something and have been watching weekly for all those years. genuinely lovedddd rewatching the anime with you and been watching the new episodes alongside u for a while since u caught up. i do plan to stick with anime only and honestly you might convince me to switch to manga too lmao. Understandable, even though we're still a long way from the end. Big things that are like decades in the making are getting wrapped up, it would suck if that gets spoiled while the anime is in production.

ngl for me i really dont see a reason for myself to read the manga. idk to me it feels like if i read the manga it will make the anime way less fun wont be a surprise anymore i dunno if its worth it to read the manga myself
