Frieren S1E26 Watch A Long
Hey Peaches! This is the episode. It's Frieren and Fern vs Shadow Frieren. Can master and apprentice work together to take down the most powerful shadow mage in the dungeon?

I love love love the bit at the very end of the fight where Shadow Frieren just hits Fern with raw magic. It's not even a spell of any sort as far as she can tell, it's just trying to crush her with the force that shapes the universe.
Also, I think the implication from Frieren saying she hasn't had to use that in 80, is not the shoving the staff up the butt for a vertical zoltraak, but whatever the not-a-spell that Shadow Frieren did. So implying that fighting Fern put her in a similar desperate situation as fighting the Demon King.
Ubel is like Amos from The Expanse. She's a psychopath, but she's also weirdly empathetic and self-aware. Though in Adam's defense, her name literally does mean Evil.
Everyone who dislikes Ubel never has an issue with any other violent character, lol. Ubel is fascinating. She's a sociopath who's magic forces her to empathize with people. So she does! That's why she's hanging around Land, she's actually trying to empathize with him so she can learn his cloning magic. She can't fake that, she has to actually empathize with them. And killing that past proctor WAS an accident. She was still working out her cutting magic and accidentally used too much too deep. And no, she's not evil. Her introduction was defending herself, even Kraft said so. Those bandits approached her and tried to rob her, same as the other group. If you hate her flippant attitude about fights and violence, you have to hate everyone else's too.
