Lesson Compilation - Week of Feb. 9th, 2026
This video documents real practice material assigned to one-on-one and video correspondence students this week.
Rhythm work includes easing into regular and drunken gallops, mixing gallop variations, syncopated 16th-note patterns, palm-muted accent work, suspended chord progressions, and polymetric 3/4–4/4 examples.
Lead-focused material includes 8th-note sequence lines, up-beat phrasing, beginner synchronization drills, legato patterns, trill work, descending scale runs, and burst-based speed picking exercises using 16th notes and sextuplets.
Additional technique work explores finger-tapping drills (including rhythmic subdivision shifts, fast trill variations, and tapped slides), triplet-based legato patterns, and sweep-picking shapes across four and five strings, including diminished arpeggios.
Each example was assigned with a specific purpose based on the individual student’s needs at the time. What you would personally receive may differ depending on your current level and goals.
