Wild Life - Build Statement for 2026
Hey everyone,
We want to share a clear update about our next build, because we know a change in timing can feel confusing when you are used to our usual rhythm.
Normally, we release builds roughly every two months. Since we are now in our release year and a lot of major systems are being woven together, the timing for the next releases is going to look a little different than usual.
Why the “February build” is now a March build
Instead of releasing the “expected February build”, we decided to release the next build in March.
This is not a delay, and we are on schedule. This was a deliberate decision, because several important parts of the game are coming together by March. Releasing then allows us to deliver a more complete and meaningful build, rather than pushing something out earlier that would feel incomplete or disconnected.
What we are focusing on right now
We are currently heavily focused on getting the game ready for release later this year, and we are giving our best to become feature complete by March.
This includes major features and systems such as:
Looting
Leveling and progression
World population
Our first full iteration of combat flow, with both ranged and melee working together during combat
Tons of new quests
And more features that help connect everything into a real gameplay loop
A lot of this work is about making sure systems do not just exist, but actually work together in a way that feels like Wild Life.
What “feature complete” means (and what it does not mean)
It is important to set expectations properly here.
Feature complete does not mean everything is fully polished by March. It also does not mean all content is finished, final, or that every last piece of content is already added.
Feature complete means the core features will be in the game and working to a solid first extent, so the true polishing phase can begin in a serious way. Polishing only really works when all the big building blocks are already there and interacting with each other.
So yes, there will still be rough edges in March. Some content will still be in its first iteration, balancing will continue, and not everything will be as refined as we want it to be, yet. That is expected. The important part is that March is a crucial milestone that puts us on a strong path toward a good quality 1.0 release.
What comes after the March build
The next build after March is planned for early June.
By then, we will be much closer to release, and the overall visual and gameplay experience should be far more representative of what the final game will feel like. This is also when many of you will really start to see the full picture come together.
We are also planning to announce our exact 1.0 release date before the June build, with more context about what will happen between that point and release.
Patreon and the $40(USD) promise
We also want to address something important that many of you care about.
We are going to find a way to give access to the final release version to everyone who has spent a total of $40 USD on Patreon support. We will share the details of how this will work closer to release.
Please be patient on this topic. We want to do it properly and fairly, but we will make sure to follow through on the promises we made.
A few key facts
Wild Life 1.0 release is planned for end of 2026, and it will be a full release, not Early Access
We will continue to polish and improve aspects of the game beyond 1.0, we are not dropping it at release
We will try to provide more platforms besides Steam, more info on this closer to release
There will be no paid cosmetic DLCs, microtransactions, or battlepasses in Wild Life. Pay once and get the actual game you paid for.
The Sandbox will follow as a free DLC in 2027, with the same mindset as stated above. Until that time, we continue with the sandbox as usual on Patreon.
Further big add-ons/expansions which include actual new gameplay and story-lines, will be evaluated after the Sandbox DLC is out.
Call to action and thank you
The team is giving everything they’ve got right now, and every bit of support goes straight into production like it always has (beside the Sexbot QA mistake back in 2018).
If you have been uncertain about supporting us, now is the right moment. We are entering the most important stretch of development, and Patreon support is the most direct way to help us keep momentum, push quality, and stay focused on shipping the best possible version of Wild Life.
On top of that, it helps a lot when you share our updates, talk about the project, and give feedback once the March build is out. That feedback loop has always been a huge part of how we improve the game and this year it's more important than ever.
And to everyone who has already supported us, tested builds, reported bugs, shared feedback, or simply stayed with us through the ups and downs, thank you. Seriously. Your trust and patience mean a lot, and we do not take it for granted. This is a crucial year for the whole team, the community, and everyone looking forward to a rather unusual and unique indie game for adults. We will keep you updated as March gets closer, and we cannot wait for you to experience how the game feels once these systems finally click together.

I have loved following this game the last few years and cant wait for the release and immerse myself in the game.
Do we know when exactly in March the new update will be released?
Hello, where can I watch gameplay? I don't have the game and would like to preview it.
Thank you for building such a unique game and experience! Godspeed wild life team, godspeed.
What a journey it's been. Ive been a supporter for I don't know how many years. Im always lurking in the discord under a different name and love seeing creative artists and programmers working together or with the devs to make steps in this field I have not seen elsewhere. Wildlife has always stood out to me and im sure many others, for its incredible devotion to the Adult Sandbox. There is an infinite amount of adult projects out there that exist to grab your attention, but very few of them put the tools in the hands of the players. Even fewer of those exist outside their specific niche. This game almost has enough built in features to its sandbox, its almost advertisable as software imo. That is to say, its pretty incredible how much you can do. On top of being an actual game with intricate mechanics, a solid world building premise and high production assets and animation, there is a powerful tool here that could create an evergreen environment for custom content. Im sure some of the development team must be aware of certain other titles out there that have stayed a bit relevant over the years. Or you may have noticed titles that non-adult games that allow for heavy player creations and modding (The Sims, Bethesda games, popular indie games with built in workshop, ect) These projects often have an adult community form around these aspects and continue to keep those projects relevant for a long time though community creations, which is usually only possible due to how easy it is to make things within the game or how easy it is to import things externally. I believe Wildlife has insane potential to reach a large audience, especially with its inclusion of both human and anthropomorphic characters, being done in a high production style that takes itself somewhat seriously. If people can catch wind of the fact that they can essentially create things like custom animations and create their own things all within a fully-fledged out Adult Rpg, I mean, there's really nothing else like it. Godspeed forever my friends and I will follow this project until I die of heart disease xD. Here is an example of something I use WL for often btw, outside of its intended purpose. This might sound crazy, but I use WL fairly often for blocking out scenes in 3d, I am an illustrator and I find the program a bit less cumbersome to use then blender or DAZ. The anthropomorphic skeletons are closer to my own designs, and their tweakable bones make it easier to adjust them to what I'm imagining.
Wow, that passion and determination are quite impressive. Great news, I'll be playing this game this year!
I just want you to know we’ve got your back. Your work is appreciated, and we’re here supporting you all the way.
honestly, best dev post I've seen properly setting expectations. I'll contribute to the march hype
Hello, where can I watch gameplay? I don't have the game and would like to preview it.
Awesome guys! Take your time. WildLife is a fantastic game!
I started in 2020. I took off the last 2 months and built a super computer/well over a hundred fps now. Now I'm back and the game looks so different. Its actually stunning.
Sounds very good. What a hell of a journey. First discovering very early builds on PH, getting into it, knowning how people said this would never be completed, and seeing how far this has come. And knowning this is still in a way, just the beginning.
I started in 2020.
Man, what a journey. It feels like centuries when I first heard of this project, back when it was just a little oasis and a few assets. And now it's ACTUALLY coming to 1.0. Honestly, part of me never thought that day would come, but here we are. The last leg of the journey. What's the plan after Wild Life? After the release and the continued support is all done? You're a proper sized studio now. Got ideas and ambitions for the future?
Are platforms other than Steam, like gog, being considered for the full release?
What can I say?🤔 I've been actively following this project for many years, and I'm more than confident in your abilities. I can't wait to try out the build in question! I hope the Italian language will be included with the game's official release. In the meantime, I wish you all the best.🫣✌️😎
It’s a real pleasure for me to contribute to the game’s development, even in a small way, and to follow its progress. I can’t wait to experience the stories and missions for myself. Will you continue to support the game with new content and features after launch, or will the development process come to an end at some point?
Man, I don't even remember how long I've been a patron for this. I honestly haven't even played it since the early days (work and family life have been busy the last few years) but I keep supporting you all because I like the dedication and timely updates. And I look forward to seeing the official release.
Hey there, I asked this before in the comments section of an earlier update, but AFAIK I never got an answer and I don't use Discord, so here I go again: Will the Sandbox DLC be an actual DLC (i.e. a separate free DLC product with its own SteamID which you have to proactively activate on Steam), or will it be an automatically applied update to the game which we just call a "DLC"? The reason I'm asking this is because in regions in which Wild Life is banned, you can still get the game on Steam, with a key for example. But AFAIK, you cannot activate free DLC products in region-locked countries and I don't believe you can get keys for free products on Steam. That means if you live in a region in which Wild Life is banned an you manage to get the game on Steam via a key, you will (AFAIK) still never be able to activate the Sandbox DLC if it is an actual free DLC product instead of an automatically applied build update. Not sure if the devs look at these comments, but can anyone tell me if this issue has been discussed on the Discord, perhaps?
While the technical details of the SteamID aren't clear, I think it will be offered as a content pack (DLC) that can be proactively acquired rather than an automatic update.
Completely understandable 🤙 thank you guys for all the hard work. For me personally, its hard to play other video games now after spending years fucking around in the wildlife sandbox. Your game has so much to offer to the gaming world and it shouldn't be put in a little corner by the industry. You guys are champs. Explorers of a new world
And other Matter. Can you make the protagonist bisexual? Is more interesting... jijiji... Thanks and good work i LOVE It!!!
I LOVE your Game. Only why when actualices the Game we need start in the beginning?
