Hey Bradley! What’s the exact tempo of the backing track in BPM? I want to make sure I’m practice and recording it at the correct speed.

For some reason I cant download the .wav file, what’s up with that?

You can't see it, or it's not working? If you can't see it, it might that you're in the preview of the post and I don't think the downloads show in that view. You need to open the post. If it's not working, I'm not sure what that would be. It worked about an hour ago when I downloaded it.

Hi Bradley - so the chord progression goes A-B which is a Lydian the C- D so that’s a key change to C Lydian? The E flat - F and that’s a change to E flat Lydian? Then resolves on the G… with a sharp 5… what key is that ending in G Lydian? Just curious how it ends, seems to resolve nicely without having land on the relative major or minor…

Yup, you've got it!! Well done. For that ending I'm treating it as like a Picardy third in Gm. That last section is Eb Lydian but those Eb and F chords could also be treated as the 6th and 7th in Gm. That probably doesn't make much sense but if you Google what Picardy Thirds you'll see it's basically just treating that last section as Gm but resolving to major instead of minor (gives that kinda triumphant Mario-sounding resolution). Hope that's somewhat enlightening haha

Confirmation Question : When you said "just going up the A Major Scale ..." you actually meant A Lydian Scale or the commonly meant A Major (Ionian) ? My Brain goes confused when you say we are in A Major and you play A and B Majorchords , because it wants to hear "we are in 4th mode E " or " A Lydian" . I realised you played A Sec Third in that part only. Which is in both cases identical. So you switched the thought to A Ionian as long as its just the "RootChord" ringing and describe it as lydian as soon as we change to B ? Sry for making such a fuzz about it . I love your playing and your website

Hey man, great question! I meant Major scale, as the Major scale and Lydian mode are 2 different things. The best way to think about it is that Lydian is simply just a slight modification of the Major scale, which is why I keep making a habit of saying "the Lydian note" in this video as it's this note that's the only difference between Lydian and Major. It's also handy to remember there's no such thing as playing "in the key of a Mode" i.e. Lydian, you can only ever be in a Major key or Minor key - Modes are just different flavors we can give to these standard keys. Hope that helps!
