"Floods" (Pantera) Solo Lesson/Analysis
Widely regarded as one of the most heartfelt, gut-wrenching pieces of guitar music ever recorded, the iconic Floods solo by Pantera really is a masterclass in emotive, heavy guitar playing.
The challenge of this solo lies not in the technicality (there's really nothing in here that should give most of you trouble) but really nailing that feel and all the nuances in the articulation. Getting all of those pesky pinches in all of the right places during the first section is really deceptively difficult!
This is a perfect piece to learn for those of you wanting a break from drilling technique and looking to really improve the overall quality of your guitar playing, phrasing and articulation.
Good luck and don't forget to share your progress with everyone in the Discord server!

If there is one solo to show dimebag was also an incrediblely expressive player, it's this one by far 🤘🤘
Dude… thank you for this.
my fingers hurt
Nice job as always. I had no idea this solo was so approachable. I’ve never tried a Dime solo before because I just assumed they were all way above my pay grade.
This is definitely one of the more playable ones from a technical perspective!
I’m going to practice the sh*t out of this one 🤘
Epic Bradley.
I feel like I'm not cut out to play solos. I find them difficult to remember and then playing fast just is even harder 😞😭
Keep working technical levels before investing this 🤘🤘🤘
Nice harmony and melody, accessible difficulty. This solo seems very nice to approach. I keep it in my job list 😘
Been waiting on this one!!!
Hell yeah!
