No Man's Sky automated .pak .mbin extractor/converter

Just a quick tool that makes extracting + converting NMS files easy, without you having to mess with cmd. it relies on HGPAKTool to extract .pak files and MBINCompiler to convert .mbin into .mxml. My tool just automates the process and removes the need to mess with cmd commands, arguements and paths.

I made it for personal use, so don't expect it to be fancy and polished, it's just a python script turned into .exe for ease of use.

REQUIREMENTS:

* MBINCompiler (included)
* HGPAKTool (included)
* Python3 (download from official source)
* zstandards (install python, then run "pip install zstandard")

If you're getting any errors/issues, it's not cuz of the tool, it's cuz you're missing some dependencies for other scripts, look at errors and download whatever is missing.

USAGE:

* Extract content of "NMSextractor_Sethioz.rar" to any folder
* DO NOT change folder structure inside tool's /root/ folder
* Double click the .exe
* select .pak to extract OR press cancel to select folder instead

When selecting single .pak, it will extract it and places all content into it's root/extracted folder, then it will scan and convert all .mbin files into .mxml files and places them in root/mxml folder. Process is fully automated and it keeps folder/file structure intact.

When selecting a folder, it will do same with all the .pak files that are inside that folder, this is good if you want to extract entire game.

NOTES:

  • I did not make MBINCompiler nor HGPAKTool, so if there's game update and extractor stops working, you have to find those 2 tools on github or some other place and replace them in the extractor folder. My tool only automates the process and makes it easier to extract with just few simple clicks.

  • I don't know if i can bother, but i made this cuz i'm trying to update NMSsaveeditor that haven't been updated for nearly a year, it doesn't recognize anything in updates added after that, so i made this tool to easily extract game .pak files and find the missing stuff, i might make my own save editor, but as everyone should know by now, i have severe depression issues and i don't know if i ever get around to it.
