Sad to see it come to an end
That ending got me feeling all sorts of things. Made me want to do a trip of my own soon adventuring through Europe on foot (inspired particularly by the ldn-budapest series, I'm in a similar mid 20s rutt) as soon as I can, hopefully this year. I do a lot of similar smaller bits around the uk which is what led me to being a fan in the first place. Anyway, this makes me want to ask; any important items that you think could be vital to take? And any advice on breaking language barriers, good lingo to learn/ways to interact? I'm thinking of taking a guitar along for the ride too.. but that might be a bit mental with that and a big bag to carry everywhere. Stupid or just ambitious? 😂 Cheers for all the amazing content
Hi Lawrence! it all depends on what you want from the trip. I liked to pack light. Clothes, a few bits and bobs for if I camp out somewhere, but nothing too serious because I liked to stay in cities for the most part. Language barriers you don't need to worry about - everyone will speak better english than you will speak their language, but it's good to learn the hellos and pleases and thank yous just to be polite. I wouldn't take a guitar if I were you! many hostels have a guitar anyway so you can get your fix there. Just be bold and brave, put yourself out of your comfort zone and do things that scare you. You'll come away twice the man and have untold stories to tell!
