Sims 4 Patch Warning: Mods & CC Are Currently Broken

Hey everyone, I’ve got an important Sims 4 update for you.

A major patch dropped today (March 17th, 2026), and it’s causing widespread issues across the modding community. Players are reporting that all Mods and CC have completely stopped working after updating — not just UI mods, but every .package file, animations, CAS CC, Build/Buy CC, loading screens, and more.

This update introduced the new Sims 4 Marketplace and the in‑game currency Moola, and it looks like those changes affected the game’s underlying framework in a big way.

A well‑known modder in the community, Sacrificial, shared a warning about the situation. I’m including his post here so you can see exactly what he said when you’re deciding whether to update.

Key points so far:

• Mods and CC are not loading at all for many players

• The issue affects .package files, which means almost all CC and non‑script mods

• This goes far beyond the usual “UI mods break after a patch” situation

• The Marketplace/Moola update likely changed how the game handles custom files

• The Sims Direct Team is aware and collecting reports

• Modders are still investigating whether this is a glitch or an intentional change

For now, if you rely on Mods or CC, please do NOT update your game until we know more.

The CC I make (for example) should not have been effected by the update, however, it was for all CC creators which make this a huge to do.
