Silk4less.com has a line of Silk/Lurex Dupioni. It’s pretty expensive per yard, but shipping is free in the US I think. That might be an option.

I cannot help with the techie stuff but a possible solution for the huge shipment costs would be if one of us were travelling from the UK to the US we could bring it with us and then post in the US? I follow another vlogger and it seems to be something she does quite a bit. Looking forward to seeing the Lookbook and enjoy your time off for writing and baking.

I splurged for some cool iridescent polyblend fabric I want to try to do something fun with.🙂 I heard you talking about baking cookies with your mom. My kids are almost the same age as you. I love doing that with my kids. I can't speak for her, but it probably means even more to her than she let on. Spending real time with your kids as adults is very special. Enjoy your holiday and take as much time as you need. We'll be here when you get back.

So excited to see all the projects you mentioned! And please monitize the Lookbook! You work too hard not to! My (limited, granted) understanding is that the algorithm can easily spot copyrighted songs by artists/bands but has a harder time with video game music, in which case those videos are only flagged if the copyright holder (or other gamer pretending to be the company because they're jealous? I guess that happens sometimes?) complains and most video game companies don't because it's free advertising. As long as you have the non-copyright box checked you should be fine.

Re: Copyright issues...If you have a subscription to a music service you should be ok. YT might flag it, but all you need to do is appeal it and you will get cleared. Can't wait until the lookbook comes out!!!

Your voice is such a delight to listen to. I was listening to this at work and felt better just by listening to this. I believe you should monetize the look book video. You put too much blood and sweat for you not to make any money off it plus it’s free advertising for the game. I’m sure you already overcame any copyright with you testing the waters with the music. I’m excited to watch the look book. So much that I told my husband who loves the game that you’re doing it and he’s excited as well. Can’t wait to see what you bring to us in December.

Speaking of Thierry Mugler, the Brooklyn Museum has a fantastic Mugler exhibit through May 2023. I was lucky enough to see it last week when I was in NYC and I kept thinking of how much you'd be geeking out/be inspired. I wish I could post photos in comments but alas, you'll just have to make a trip to Brooklyn.

Yay for baking cookies! Those coloured contact lenses you shared a picture of on Instagram made you look like you had blue wolf eyes. It was freaky! I hope you don't have to turn off monetization for your upcoming look book. It's wild what the YouTube copyright detector will pick up. There have been times when I've uploaded one of my performances, but the system thought I sounded like someone else who had already recorded the piece and so I got flagged. I've disputed it every time and always got it cleared, but it can be quite irritating. Fortunately, it hasn't happened in a while. Your music selections are always just right and you've got great timing! I'll bet that tune, Bottom Heavy, by Danny Tenaglia would be a good one to strut down the runway to. Good luck on this final stretch of production! 🎬

Technology is so great until it goes horribly wrong. Sorry you lost your footage I'm sure that was not helpful. I have a problem checking out of life as well. I'm an avid reader because I can leave my life behind and enjoy someone else's life for a couple of hours a day. Thank you for all the videos!

I completely agree with the ambiance of a fire-heated room, up to and including that they tend to get over-warm. In a crafting room I would be very concerned about even small amounts of soot and how I'd totally smudge up everything all the time, in addition to the fire hazard that is the fine layer of fiber dust my room tends to build up. Maybe I'm just a mess? Fire can also make the air even drier than just the winter cold does, but I have seen some awesome cast iron stovetop humidifiers that look like dragons and other animals, so accessory win! If your eye exam included cancer and glaucoma screenings (which is standard) it should be covered by your insurance once a year no matter where you got it done. Submit for reimbursement for the exam, they may pay for most, if not all of it.

Omg, this is going to be EPIC. I'm always excited for the lookbooks, and the follow up tutorials, but I literally can't wait for this one!
