How would you do this for a skirt? Like a hip yoke. Still just move the darts?
For skirt yokes you indeed separate the piece at the dart points and then close the waist darts, this pinterest image may help visualize the modification https://www.pinterest.com/pin/553309504222131012/

I liked both styles and my imagination went away with me thinking of different ways to wear with jewellery etc. I have to live vicariously through you though as I am a total noob and had difficulty cutting fabric last night.
