Sorry I'm so late catching up! May I ask which grain line you followed for the gathered piece? This came out lovely! Thanks!

Thank you! I used the original grainline along the waist, it was still sorta marked from seeing the original center front line 😅 I should have remarked it! The little diagram from the book shows the grainline they suggest luckily

This is totally off topic from the actual content of the video, but I am LOVING your new hair. It’s so cute.

Thank you! It's just piled on my head all poodled, but it's a fun one when I don't want to mess with having it down ✨

It’s a given that whatever you touch turns to gold. The fun is in not knowing which part of the genie lamp you’re going to rub next! I sure did enjoy the buggy brooches and shadowbox, I thought it might work for some badges I've accumulated over the course of my travels, except I can't find them. When they turn up, I want to make a box for them. 😀

The finished bodice will be beautiful, you can't drape enough it adds so much interest! It was so interesting watching you manipulate the pattern into a new design...I learn so much! Thank you

If I had to follow these directions in the original book I would be totally lost… thanks for the clear demo for those of us “ visual learners”,

Love this! Another design to add to my list of things I want to make, although I would have liked to see it with the big 1940's shoulders.

T
The Closet Historian · December 28, 2021

Always love a big 1940's shoulder! I keep a bag of shoulder pads in the sewing room now 😂

Your makeup! *swoon* - what an amazing fit that change produced! I can see how a great shimmery fabric would be everything with it!

I may have indulged in a few Terra Moons cosmetics eye shadows on black Friday and they live up to the hype!

It’s always amazing to see you work your magic! What a cool look. Are you still asking for us to send you designs we would like mocked up through your Pinterest page? I have my grandmother’s 1946 wedding dress and the bodice details are neat. I’d love to see you mock it up. Thank you for sharing all you do!

Thank you Jaime! I always like looking at new design options so feel free to send them my way!
