Dining Area Updates!
Well I have been a bity MIA haven't I? Thank you for your constant patience!!
My parents were in town for a week earlier in November and we managed to replace the flooring in my kitchen and dining area!! Now I've got nice dark "luxury" laminate wood flooring, and the difference is nothing short of miraculous. The space just feels so much /cleaner/ on an almost subconscious existential level. It also looks waaaay nicer as well of course!
As result of the upgrade, I have been trying to pull the rest of the dining area decoration together to have a video for the channel this next week. I assembled some thin wooden pelmet/cornices for the windows and chose some replica cotton lace curtain panels from Cooper Lace to hang behind them. A nice 'dinner at Dracula's cottage' vibe I like to think.
Then I spent this last week absorbed in building a giant plate rack to sit above my sideboard. It was quite the puzzle to figure out how best to construct it, not in general, but with my particular set of limited tools and carpentry skills. There would have been an easier, and I'm sure far more correct way to put it all together, but it's up, it's sturdy, and as a sewer not a woodworker...I think it will do the job 😂
So I'm down to the details, like cleaning and fixing up this old oil lamp for example, and have plenty of little things to finish up before I edit the results into the next video. Before anything else though I'll be recording our podcast with the more rambling version of this update today, so I'll just say I'll talk to you soon...

Just watched this video finally and it looks amazing! Im also in update New York and I feel like I need to go further a field from my home town of Troy from better antique shops cause you have the best luck finding cool stuff!
I love the lace window curtains, inspired choice. The pendant shade is very desirable, I love it so much.
I'm excited to see!!!
I love your updates no matter the timespan between them. You are an inspiration in a beetle green haze for mere mortals to ponder. I want nothing more than an early Victorian home of my own to transform.
Love it! And also, will def combat the robots & watch new videos... but I do like to go back and watch older ones too, so the watches will be coming!
i love the windows! great vibe! but the wall looks a bit unfinished compared to app the pretty stencilling in other parts of the house.
It is looking amazing! 🤩
That’s looking awesome so far! The curtains are just stunning. 😍
Everything is looking great. I love the windows!! Can't wait for the next video 🙂
The windows are fabulous. Instant "wow." Looking forward to seeing your shelving. Learning how to sew helped me be a better carpenter, so I can imagine your skills transfer well!
Looking good, it really makes that lamp pop. I also want to mention that for me personally, a big part of your appeal is your voiceovers. They are casual, witty and you speak fast enough to keep me engaged. It feels like I just dropped in to hang out with my cool friend, who is happy to chat while i have some tea and watch them work on their latest amazing project. I learn through osmosis, more like an apprentice rather than a student. So, keep that in mind if you need a break to heal from an RSI. Your commentary and asides are an essential part of your appeal. Id listen to you present the weather with a recommendation on what would be most fashionable to wear while experiencing it (cloudy with a chance of capelet).
Love the window things, the way they are overlapping is very attractive.
Love how it's coming together! You're braver than me to design customing shelving
Gorgeous ceiling, windows, and light!! Also, who can resist a good oil lamp? I have a couple just waiting to be displayed after I move. You are inspiring many ideas of what I can do in my house! 😍
Gorgeous ceiling! And I love the windows, like everyone else 😁 Impressive carpentry skills, too. Well done!
Beautiful, love it!
Looking forward to the podcast version 😁. That lamp is amazing and has a real vibe I’m into. I believe wood working and sewing are a lot closer in skill sets, it just doesn’t have seam allowances.
Looking fantastic!
Wow! The windows look amazing!
The windows look fabulous! And mazel tov on the floors. Having the right floors can really pull a room together and lower the stress level. Have the furry inspectors been spending a lot of time checking it out?
Really the love the window thingies! They actually looked at first to me like a dress or mannequin. The shape is very body-like, which feels perfect for your house!
My first thought when seeing the windows was that they looked like a gorgeous dress silhouette.
