A chaotic mini tour and update video!
A weekend update from reno-land, where today the boiler broke again and I don't have hot water or heating currently woo
Here's hoping things get fixed up for good next week, have a good Sunday all and stay warm!

Wow, it’s amazing to see the changes you’ve made in the last year. You’ve already transformed it to a lovely foreboding mansion! Right now you’re dealing with a roof leak, which while stressful is fixable. Can’t wait to see your progress in another year. 💕
Please don't apologize for being MIA - you have a lot to do to setup projects and a really long to-do list - the house architecture looks amazing and we'll patiently wait to see your plans for it.
I know I am not really involved. But the little updates this holiday season has given me so much joy at feeling involved in your dream. Much more than the videos brought me. For now take care of yourself and send more adorable cat door photos and wall paper samples I can run (litterally) to show my family.
What a great space! I love that the house still has a lot of nice period details. Thanks for including us on your new home adventures, it's been fun to follow along.
Wonderful home with some outstanding architectural details. I can't wait to see what you do with it. Don't worry about us. We understand and know that once you're settled, we'll be the recipients of some fabulous content.
No worries! We got your back. And we love a “hot mess express” make-over! Just listening to the “to do” list brings back flashbacks of living in one room while we remodeled the entire house! But worth it! There is a light at the end of the tunnel and the fun stuff will start.
What a beautiful house! My house is from 1903, but it doesn't have some of the wonderful details yours has. I'm pretty happy living with my husband and son, but part of me kind of wants a little Victorian of my own to live in :)
Just keep juggin'! Your house is perfect because you can do whatever you want with it and not feel guilty about tearing out new flooring or tiles or cabinets. Don't forget to do fun things or relax between projects! It'll be fun to see how you do things❤️
I love your vision for your new/old/ house! A project like a fixer-upper house takes months and years! So take a deep breath, you don't have to tackle everything at the same time! I heard that it helps to fix up one room completely in the beginning to live in, so you can have a break or escape from "living in a restoration situation" when you need it, without sleeping in a hotel or something. I wish you the best and lots and lots of energy and endurance/patience. You go girl!👍💪🥰
Ya, I second this.
Even though I really enjoy your sewing and drafting content this is equally fun to watch!
The house looks great and you're doing amazing!!
OMG the arches are amazing. Can not wait to see what you do with these amazing spaces <3 And no worries on not making content - you just moved halfway across a country & have a bunch of things to put together <3
Yes, my reaction as well! Have you heard of Second Empire Strikes Back? He has been working on an old house, too. He has some good videos about plastering. You are in the whirlwind of figuring out what the priorities are for your house...it will tell you, lol. I am fine with various casual updates during this time. Your house certainly has kept some really nice details. I am impressed with the kitchen's layout and the way the dining room is accessible on either side of the chimney. I have seen so many that are SO BAD. It is full of promise. Hang in there! We are rooting for you!
BREATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a beautiful house. We have a 1930's wooden house we have been renovating and having to restore old features to. We bought my mother a 1910's wooden house that we are renovating as well, she loves her library that we created. A big move for my family. It takes time, effort and giving yourself a break. Set up what you need to live and then have the fun of decorating. Eventually I made the curtains that we wanted to add our own character. I have three different rooms for my sewing and long arm quilting machine. Plus fabric storage and cutting, in my "jungle room" as it has great natural light and the plants are growing wonderfully!!! xxx
Your house is wonderful! It reminds me so much of my In-laws house in New Jersey. The door knobs and even the fixtures are the same! Your arches are better, though. You are so brave! I am thoroughly enjoying watching you explore this great adventure. I have always thought you were brave, the projects that you have made into reality and so beautifully. You have surpassed my wildest dreams. Thank you so much for sharing your journey.
I love your house,, it has so many quirky little rooms and gorgeous features. Every single shot in the video had so many nice things to look at. Can't wait to see how you get on with it all xx
Ooooh! The house is amazing! Can't wait to see you bring her to life. Love the triptych of gothic windows. So excited for you!
Don't feel bad at all; this is so fascinating to watch. You're taking on such a huge project! What a cool space. Can't wait to see how you develop it into your style home.
No guilt, please! I am loving to see your adventure with the new house.
Thank you for the tour. I’m very excited to see all the changes. Don’t worry about getting everything done at once. It takes time and old houses costs can be expensive. I’ve been in my 1950s house for 7 years. I’ve only managed 2 bathroom renos, updated sunroom and a bedroom. I increased my Patreon category so I hope it helps you. I’m just as happy to see house updates, cat videos and unpacking organization videos as I am to see sewing. Thank you for sharing your journey. If I weren’t across the country I’d help you paint. I used a hot water spray bottle to soak the 1950s wall paper off. I found it was faster than a sponge. If I remember you have a clothes steamer, we used a steamer for some of the more stubborn wall paper.
It's a beautiful house! So happy to see you having your dream realized. And no stress on providing content. It's equally satisfying to know you have your place and have the time and space to work on it at the pace you see fit.
Thank you for the update! I think we all understand that it will take time for you to get back to sewing content. Be kind to yourself. BTW, consider plaster for the crown moulding over the curved window! Might be a fun new skill!
Did you see where Christine McConnell did that it's amazing
Oh my. Your house is gorgeous! The moulding makes me weep! Those cathedral windows! Congratulations on getting moved in.
Like everyone says, take a deep breath. And i m sure i am not the only one looking forward to seeing some renovation content, but do not let that be an extra pressure. It takes time to fix up a house, and you can NOT fix everything at once. The house has heeps of potential, let it be fun to fix up :) i love these little updates and that is more than enough for me at present. I actually feel you have taught me enough drafting that i for the most part can make the clothes that i wish to. So thank you!
Oh dear, I hope the boiler can be fixed soon! Please, please don't stress too much about not being able to make sewing videos at the moment!
Thank you for sharing your new house! It's been a little thrill every time you're able to post an update, to see you bringing your dream to fruition. Having been through a house purchase as well as several moves in the last few years, I'm not at all upset that you're able to post less frequently, and am happy that the support here has enabled you to focus a little more on this other project. As you're able to share, I'll enjoy seeing your progress. And it's fun to dream about the future videos that will be made in your sewing room - when you get there, we'll be happy to have you back. Best of luck!
Eek! That house is gorgeous! I'm overwhelmed just hearing your plans 😅🙃 I consider this a great gift and I'm not even mad you can't sew yet. I'm all for Patreon videos to be reno or painting projects. Congratulations again on being a homeowner 🎊🎉✨️💕
What a great house! Take your time doing the work, starting with food and heat of course. It will still be there when you get to it.
Wow what amazing bones your new home has! Although the stress is unreal right now, it will be very much worth it.
Wow. That house is amazing! It has got so much potential 💓
Love the update! That house has SO much potential!!!
Take your time and enjoy it - no rush. You’re doing brilliantly.
Hi, Your house looks so lovely. And large. You have rooms for days it seems, and as Tevje sais, you've one stairs that goes up and another one that goes down. At least that's what he sings in the version of my language. Don't feel guilty on my account. I know that you are overworking yourself to get back to regularly scheduled programing as soon as you can, but please remember to breath at times too. I'll be here when you're ready, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this. (I peeked at the other comments, and they are saying the same.) With my warmest regards, Ann
Your home is amazing! I hope the heating is up and running soon! Moving is one of the most stressful things to go through…and it always seems as if there is one more thing to “do.” Please take care of you. We’ll be here.
I can see why you fell in love with this house...gorgeous. Someday, you will be sitting at your dining table having coffee, with a kitty (or two) purring in your lap, and everything around you will make you as happy as your to-die-for light. A feeling of satisfaction and pride will well up inside you because you did it yourself. I'm sending that feel-good vibe your way. You will also have us celebrating with you because we watched you do it. Hang in there.
Beautifully said.
youre doing amazing! i cant even fathom having to do so much in such a short amount of time! the house looks wonderful and I'm so excited for it to get in order, not for us, but so you can finally relax for probably the first time in.. years? sending you all the best and happiest of vibes <3
Take a breath and focus on getting to a place where you are comfortable, you need to put on your oxygen mask first 💜
Oops pressed the wrong button. Moving house is so very stressful. Please slow down and take a breath, the overwhelm can become unbearable if you let it. Do one room at a time is my best advice. I do hope you can get the basics fixed soon though - hot water, heating and your oven; I am sure you will feel better when these are up and running. Go out, have a walk and see some nature and breathe. We all understand that you feel you must show what you are up to, but you are not a machine. Please look after yourself. Big hug.
It is lovely to see your house. The house is HUGE! Much larger than I expected. Beautiful house too, love the high ceilings, and the kitchen dining area is cosy. Weird that they left you a broken down oven though.
I absolutely love your house. It’s probably going to take quite some work to get it how you’ve envisioned it, but I can’t wait to follow you along the way. Ps. Moving makes me burned out too.
It's so interesting how different houses are in other countries. As a pathological re-arranger of furniture having built in closets would annoy me, baseboard heaters also seem problematic for that. These 19th century houses are so cool, I'm looking forward to seeing you bring it to goth life. I love that your cats have their own bedroom
What a beautiful home! I can totally see the potential and can’t wait to see what you do with it. Renos, moving etc is all so exhausting! Thanks for sharing with us, and hope you are feeling less stressed soon and more on the excited side!
We are happy just to see your pretty face and get an update on the house. Please don’t feel so pressured to get back to projects when your house is the current project! We’d love to see it come together and the work you’re doing on it. Wishing you peace and prosperity this 2025! Excited to live vicariously through you with the house decorating. 🫶🏼
You have quite the exciting project ahead of you! I got a big kick out of the kitchen." Oh my," I said, "That is definitely 1970s Harvest Gold. I remember it well." At least the appliances weren't avocado green, which was the only other color available that entire decade. I'm quite excited to see what you will do with all this potential. In the meantime, I think you can consider yourself officially on vacation. Don't worry about us; we have heat and hot water. We'll be fine while you settle in.
That house is gorgeous 😍 I can't wait to see what you will do with some of the rooms (if you feel like sharing) I get why you jumped on this one because just seeing makes my hands itch and a million ideas fill my head! I hope you do give yourself some grace though, I get youtube is your job so it's something you need to do but please, also try to get in some writing time or something to relax. Your mother sounds so sweet, I know my family would do the same but it's still so sweet to hear all the help your parents are
I'm so excited for you!! You're doing great, please don't worry about us. As far as I'm concerned, your goal of your own house is one of the reasons I have been supporting you for so long, so I'm just happy knowing you made it! Moving is so much work, and it took me 5 years to finally unpack our last box. Take your time and schedule some rest! I'll be here when you're ready 💜🎉🙌
You've done an incredible amount of work already! And no worries on the content front. I can't speak for everyone, obviously. But you're already working so hard just to make it to a point where you can live and work comfortably. Please stay warm in this storm 💙💚
You did well scraping off the wallpaper! I like scraping, it's kind of therapeutic, though I don't envy your sore arms. I moved less than a year ago and so am having flashbacks. If you cut up boxes to recycle, be careful of your hands. I made the mistake of cutting them all up at once to tie them down to the proper size and did some nerve damage to my hands which took a few months to heal. Your house has many beautiful details and some amusing left overs from past owners. I am happy to watch you make it your own! Uno...great game!
I love this content!! Please for the love of all things black and batty don't feel stress for us. Just video the cats some
I love your house! Sending you lots of hugs and good wishes and positive thoughts as you get your home in order. I am so glad your Mom is there to help you. Just take it one day at a time. We understand you have a lot to do, and it's going to take a little while. Don't feel guilty about not having a video. We are here for you.
When I bought my first home the fridge konked out on day one; its like the appliances are peeved the prior owners left them behind. Maybe a sage smudge, or pour a libation in honour of the furnace to appease it? Your dining room lamp is a very nice choice. Our 120-year old house's budget 70's kitchen was so depressing that I couldn't have a conversation in that room. Pale mauve and pale grey counters and wallpaper under flourescent tube lights - ugh. TBH the kitchen update we did has given us more satisfaction than any trip to Europe ever could. For the bathroom, since you have the second set of water lines, you might consider installing a european bidet sink? With a motion detecting faucet it can double as a cat water fountain ;-) Congratulations again, looking forward to more videos of your progress!
Omg!! The entryway and moldings are just stunning!!! I’m so stoked to see it all decorated. BUT don’t over extend yourself either. It takes a good few months to really unpack and you need to let yourself have that. Get the have tos done and let the rest of of it take the time it needs. You’ll be surprised how much your first expectations for how you’d live in a space can change in just a few months of actually living in the space
Congrats on your new home! I hope you have a wonderful time making it your own!
The house is amazing!!!! I love it so much!!!! I am so looking forward to home improvement videos!!!! Give the babies "Boops" from me, and Winter and Nimbus say "Mew!!" 🖤💜🖤💜
What's in a name? Call it the blue patterning table of doom, regardless of it's colour.
Getting settled is such a HUGE endeavor!! We understand and don't mind seeing less ☺️. All those little things you are tackling now really add up to make a house feel like home. We had brass light fixtures all over and wanted brushed nickel.... We snagged a can of brushed nickel spray paint and it worked a million times me better than I guessed it ever would. I figured if we couldn't afford to replace them, we might as well try and improve them. Totally worth the afternoon of work and $10. I imagine you could do the same with your preferred color pallet (just in case you haven't considered that as an option, but you probably have!). Congrats on all you've accomplished at far!!!
Congratulations! You have such an adorable house. The arches are to die for! A few years ago the hubs and I put the work into our old house…so worth it. Best of luck to you and getting everything done! It is completely understandable why you have been unable to post sewing content (though I find myself just as excited for house updates too).
I'm from the Adirondacks and that very specific red painted floor in Victorian houses was very common with linoleum "carpets" in the center. Also, the unpainted centers was common, too.
This house has such great bones! Can’t wait to see it as you add your special touches to it!
I'm so excited for you, I think your videos are worth the wait!
No need for apologies! Moving is hard. Moving across country is harder, especially in the winter. Home ownership is equal parts overwhelming and rewarding, too. I hope you are able to get the impediments removed this week so that you can move forward!
I appreciate that you care about continually providing content; right now, your life is a whole heckin' whirlwind, and it is absolutely 5,000% appropriate that you are focusing on that. Take care of you. We'll be here ❤️ Also, that Tiffany-esque light fixture over your kitchen table is a frickin' MVP in that room. Stunning, and I can't wait to see how you bring the rest of the room (and the house) up to your level 🤩
