A Short Sleeved Moire Jacket ✨

Hello there!

I'm still finishing up the last little video for this ensemble, a separate how to for the lace under-shirt-front thing, so that will be coming later tonight. Thank you so much for your patience and support! Podcast coming later this week ❤️

There are many beautiful black flowers in nature. I just planted some in my garden plot-- angelonia, pansy and hollyhock. Waiting on my calla lily to set its blooms. Struggling to get a black scabiosa seedling up to plantable size. I'm an old millenial and have no idea how to share a picture.. the pansies are great though! perennial, amendable to crowding together, nice in a pot...

I'm adding my vote to seeing how you alter the pattern for this jacket! As for allergies to makeup, I know soy lecithin, latex, and bee's wax are big allergens that are frequently used in makeup. However, once you know what you're allergic to it should be fairly easy to find alternative brands because more brands are adding allergen free collections to their repertoire.

Thank you Kathryn! I fear the thing I am most allergic to are the fancy iridescent eyeshadows I love 😒

Hi, Let me begin with apologizing for this extra long comment. Feel free to not read it. I'm apparently in a very chatty mood today, but thought I'll just send it and you can make a decision not to read it all. I'll try to keep it short next time. Now to the actual letter: What kind of question is that? Of course I want to see you modify this one if you want to make a video on that. As always I can only speak for me, but I'm game if you are. Isn't it funny how everyone has seen the light and now they want to show you. It would have been good if all of them had seen the SAME light. How much easier it would be. I got the thought of that from my first voice teacher and vocal coach, but I took it and made it my own. She had a lot of good things to say on and a sneaky way to get you to think about things. Not that I complain. She was a good fit for me (RIP). Absolutely you keep doing you. Maybe some people that hasn't been around since the beginning don't know you well enough to know how experienced you are both as a designer and as a seamstress. And on that note, I don't think you are half as annoying in person as you think you are. I would absolutely give it a chance, given I had one. About the costume with all the trimmings, only you can say. Just be aware that the prices are not getting lower as far as I can tell, so don't let time price you out of the market. I watch Location, Location, Location on TV so there is where that comes from. If you are going to do the whole thing: I learnt a way of making the grommets back in grade school in the 70's (I'm old. I know). There was the bits that you loaded the grommets on in metal just like now, but instead of fiddling with that tool you took a mallet and gave it a good whack, and they'd outlast the garment. As for makeup. Have a look at Lisa Eldridge's line. She has a bunch of shimmers, not as colorful as your usual, and they are pricey, but I can wear them, and that is saying a fair bit. My histamine likes histrionics too, and try to kick up a fuss. Now for me to go back and see you finnish this jacket that you don't love. This is going on to be a long one as I'm making a running commentary on your your talking. It's that kind of day today,it seems. I'm having my training later tonight so I'm having you over for company. Those catalogues... Yes they do sound very precious. Big sign handle with care. From a art conservator I watch sometimes, I now know that there are archival plastic bags that are UV safe and projected to last for a very long time. I'm sure you already heard about it but I learnt about it last night, so to me it's news. Let me know if you want me to get his details. He is apparently on Instagram too, but I'm not. I can easily get it though. I need to stop making this running conversation with you and try and get ready for training. On my future to do list is making either a circle skirt or a gored skirt for training and I should get a good pair of dance trouser too. But first I need to put some eyebrows on and get going. You look very... dead? without visible eyebrows if you are very pale and wear black. Black is the training color. Probably because our competition gowns (Standard) and dresses (Latin) are so colorful and full of crystals. On my gown I have three or more full of packets of Preciosa crystals. Luckily I don't have to glue them on. My seamstress did that for me for my current one. I'm thinking of getting a new gown made, but haven't made my mind up yet. Maybe midnight blue with AB, white and blue crystals. I Remain Yours, Ann

Yes I would love to see any modifications/fixes you do to this garment!

I put a 1980's machine into a 1950's table and vice versa. The tabs that hold your machine in it's box will either drip straight into the table, or can be switched out. I found my nice table (lots of leg room underneath) on FB market place for not much 😉

Yes please to the adjustment video. It’s so helpful to see how you make changes to otherwise completed garments. And yes to Christmas gown 😀🤞🏻

I have a 99K in a table...and I've been looking to convert it to tabletop as there is very little space for the human legs to go. (Also, someone used it for plants at some point, so the veneer is ruined.)

In re: sewing table, Ive had good luck with Craigslist and estate sales. Even if the sewing machine itself is seized up, it's easy to swap it out with your preferred machine...and you might even score a knee control!

More costumes please! You alway create such beautiful art. And tbh, I love it all!!! Historical Hats would be super fun. Been a while for those.

Is it me? I think the peplum and sleeves look great! P.s. YouTube algorithm, unlike Santa, can't tell naughty from nice - all adds to channel popularity doodahs. Embrace the Dark side!

Very nice. I love the hat with the outfit too. Wish I had your figure, I'd wear all the gorgeous jackets you design x

I thought only us lefties wear our watch on the right hand! This outfit is very chic and New Yorkers do tend to wear a lot of black, at least in the city. When some of the comments get to you, you could think of Ethel Merman's quote: "I can never remember being afraid of an audience. If the audience could do better, they'd be up here on stage and I'd be out there watching them."✂️✨👏

Such a good quote, thanks.
