There are chains in this world of which we do not approve, and then there's Bianca's chainmail (aka good chains)!! Hope you were able to put down the pliers. Excited to see the new collection! ⛓️‍💥😀

Hailey Rose (@that_girl_with_the_hearse) on Instagram has been modeling some casual, daily wear, scale maille. Now you are presenting artistic, evening maille. Maybe we can bring back practical and aesthetic armour for street and office wear.

Thank you Jen! I feel lucky that the ideas never stop, but I am running into the limitations of physical body and actual calendar as usual 😅

In Regency, it is called a chemisette. And, gorget is french, if that sounds better.

T
The Closet Historian · June 15, 2024

So much better in French! I shall stop pronouncing the last handful of consonants and feel all the better for it 😂

Hi, So glad to hear you acknowledge the fact that you are an artist. Also that you are ready when the call comes for somebody to come down to the precinct and be a priestess for a bit. I can't wait to see those head... things come to life. Will that first thing go over your face or is it a hood-type thing, and what's with the fringe. I can hardly wait. That might be an an extension of the hat conscience that I carry into these situations. I'm so happy that you showed the little sinamay percher/cocktail hat, by the way. I've been trying to figure out what those might look like. I don't have that thinking of an apple and seeing one mind-thingies, so to actually seeing one makes my consciousness sit up and take notice. Thank you. And I did think of a fencing mask when I saw it, too. It was just the size that threw me a bit, because I couldn't see how that could fit your face. Apple thingy again. However, I might not be able to see an apple, but I can smell quite a few different ones in an instant. I don't know how helpful that would be to humankind, or what it says about me, but here we are. Would I like to see how you made those things? Always. Of course I would. All of them. Anything that you want to show, I'll be watching. I even finish the catalogue videos you do, even if I do struggle a little because that apple thing. When you say "It comes in blue, pink and chartreuse. Yes please, one of each." I go "Hein? What?" and "Chartreuse, what's that?" until some time later when I remember my colors, and you are a few pages ahead and I have to rewind. Here is the important bit though. I do rewind, and I love them, too. So until next time, I remain yours etc, Ann

Thank you Ann! The chain mail filigree head covering things are indeed like a full face veil/hood. One of them has an open face with fringy "bangs", but the others are like veils and are sooo fun to sparkle in, but rather unpractical for any occasion I can imagine 😂

I’d love to see anything you’re working on, it’s quite amazing to see your process….i have a hard time getting started on projects. xo

T
The Closet Historian · June 15, 2024

Thanks Wendy! I have a hard time /stopping/ myself, and it's actually quite crucial that I learn 😬

Oh my gods, I love everything you showed. I am so excited to see the lookbook, the see your vision. It looks majestic. It is worth all the wait. I hope you can make videos about everything you showed. Also the chainmail and the lantern bag. Amazing, everything is so gorgeous. No words.

Thank you Tereza! I have some chainmail inspired necklaces coming to the channel on Monday ❤

Ophelia T. · June 5, 2024

Please walk us through how you create the filigree chainmail headpiece! It will be therapeutic to see how you fit all the jump rings and beads :)

T
The Closet Historian · June 5, 2024

Therapeutic to watch but my hands are destroyed, I don't know how real chainmail makers do it all the time 😬

A
Alexandra Wellington · June 5, 2024

Thank you Alexandra!!

Julie Tokumaru · June 5, 2024

If someone should ask, "Where will you wear that?", you really don't need to answer them, this is after all your job. People make things all the time for work that will never have a truly useful purpose.

T
The Closet Historian · June 5, 2024

Fashion is just one of those half practical/half art zones where sometimes it leans one way and sometimes the other 😂

Neon Fox · June 4, 2024

I bought exactly those connectors in gold to make myself a plaque belt for the Renfaire. Clearly you are a woman of excellent taste. ;)

Sarah Wilson · June 4, 2024

Also, it's hard to say what's worse with leather vs plastic. I don't have that answer, have you ever heard of emergy? It's a system for calculating the total impact/cost of things and it's fascinating. There's also ISO standards for doing it, it's really tough to get all the components factored in, also you're one person and this is the sort of calculations that companies and governments should be doing.

Sarah Wilson · June 4, 2024

Amazing! Been waiting to be called to Arakis myself, hasn't happened. . . yet

T
The Closet Historian · June 5, 2024

Thanks Sarah! Dress for the life you want I say, high priestess of textile hoarding in my case 😅

R
Robyn Bayles · June 4, 2024

Gorget is also pronounced gore-jay, if that makes it less horrible? Hahah! Can't wait for the look book!

T
The Closet Historian · June 4, 2024

Ah French! No last consonants, that makes far more sense yes!

C
