The Future of Royalty Mod

Hello everyone!

Royalty Mod is more than 6 years old, can you believe it?!
In case some of you were worried by the title, don't worry, I have no plans on retiring or stopping support for it any time soon.

The past few months I have been thinking about what I want this mod to look like in the future.
With the last update, I implemented the Royal Ledger which I hoped would make some parts of the mod easier to access and understand.
That sentiment is what I would like to carry on with over the next year of releases.
I've seen too many players who would like to play the mod be too overwhelmed by the size and have no idea where to start, which leads into my plan for the near future.

Moving forward, I will be trialing a more of a 'mix and match' framework when it comes to Royalty Mod.
I have dabbled slightly in this in the past (Greek add-on, the upcoming Viking add-on, ect) however I would like to really make it possible for you customize what you want in your games, and what you'd prefer to leave out.

What would this new module based framework look like for you players?

Say you play only royalty and do not want peasants.
You would download the modules related to royalty such as; Crown Royals, Audiences, Knights, ect, and you would not download the peasants module. Simple!

This also will allow me to target patch smaller features without updating the entire mod.
More excitingly, I would also be able to upload smaller content modules much more frequently.

This should come into effect over the next few months.

I'm keen to hear your opinions!

(p.s. Don't worry if you're not keen on downloading all the modules - I will ensure there is one post will everything packaged together for ease!)

Thank you for this! I'd appreciate being able to safely take parts out that I may already have with the game itself or etc., for the files possible to that with. I don't particularly need some titles, peasents system or royal vault, but maybe I'd change my tune and feel like doing it at a later date, so just being able add or remove these sort of things would be preferable enough for me. Though I seen someone mention arranged marriages (contract or hostage or political) and war (maybe choices leading to the pull of victory or loss) and that would be totally cool! Maybe something like an assasination guild and this might be a wild one and something the player would have to do themselves, but I suggest an isekai route if even possible lol.

I love this idea I'm constantly undownloading and redownloading the mod but if I could pick and choose what parts I wanted I'd be much more likely to just keep it in! Also Vikings update sounds so cool!!

I think it's a great idea if it works for you. <3 i am that example that plays royalty but not peasants :D

That sounds awesome. Is there a way you could make it where we can choose between modern and medieval class systems and what the needed value amounts are? In my Viking Age save everyone, including the king, are peasants. Lol

Can you add arranged marriages. The mod that used to be for it isn't working anymore so I can't force nobles into making their kids marry for alliance. If two kindgoms are at war and make their children marry each other it's pretty realistic since it used to happen to royals and nobles.

+1 for this

This sounds like a good idea! I've been interested in this mod for a while but haven't jumped in yet.

A modular mod would be so amazing. Each time I wanted to try your mod, I was so overwhelmed by it all. Then it kept growing bigger and bigger. I do not dare to look into anymore lol.

What I’d love is a Tudor module or a Tudor add on, plus support for realistic childbirth, arranged marriages, wetnurses, court, support for larger families similar to court royals where your older children can live in the court. I’d literally go up tiers for that kind of content, I currently follow on a separate account

that sounds cool! for now, maybe you'd like some things from pandasama's childbirth mod?

I am obsessed with this mod, it's made the sims 4 so much more playable for me over the past 6 years. Thank you :)

I love this idea! I play with Lumpinou's mods and its one of my favorite feautures because I can add and remove modules based on my gameplay needs at the time or due to an update breaking one module but not the others I personally love your royalty mod and I've been plahing with it for years I know when I do my historical gameplay vs modern royals I would make good use of the customizability you're talking about.

this would be amazing! I'd love to play with the mod, but the peasant gameplay isn't something I really care about

I love this idea. I would love it if you are willing to is make female versions of male titles so they can have their own identity. For example: my sims are a Grand Duke so his wife should have the title of Grand Duchess But every time I see her she has his title in her name. It just doesn’t look right. You do such great work. I hope you would make this happen. 😊

Love this idea!!💗 Could there be a war addon? Ik there's some military options now but they don't seem to be working for me

This is a wonderful idea! I've dabbled with the royalty mod and really enjoyed it, but I never used the peasants feature as it didn't fit with my play style.

Thats a great idea. I love this mod, but I am a little overwhelmed. The ledger is helpful. I am a little unsure how the mod adapts to the Royalty and Legacies pack. Also when I play my history challenge they advence and some things are not needed anymore. Looking forward for this and the viking add on.

I like this idea, as someone who is not interested in everything the mod has to offer but is interested in some of the other features. It could also be interesting for those who have a specific decade in mind for their gameplay (for exemple someone might be interested in the royalty management aspect but not the medals or grand balls as those did not exist in the era they want to play in)
