Current Situation

I want to keep you all updated on my current situation as I know many of you are waiting for various mods of mine to be updated & most especially, Royalty Mod to be integrated with the Royal Pack.
As some of you may know, I had to temporarily live in Melbourne with my partner due to his work.
I have come home today, from a long day of travel, on the tail end of a cold (cleared to travel), to find my apartment completely covered in mould.
I won't focus on the fact that my rental agency were supposed to be keeping an eye on my apartment, and did not warn me even two months ago when they found the beginnings of mould. Or the fact I'm now out $1000 in hotel & professional cleaning fees. Or the fact that I'm asthmatic and the level of the mould in that apartment could send me to hospital or worse. Or even the fact that the agency is entirely blaming me even though they have picture proof of finding mould and not alerting me.
I will focus instead on my current situation which will effect the rate at which my mods are produced. My initial schedule was to upload a new mod tomorrow as well as a royalty mod patch.
I don't know how long I'll be living in this motel with terrible internet but I will try my best to get things uploaded and also keep you all in the loop.
TL;DR: Rental agency didn't tell me my apartment was covered in mould, I'm pissed off and living in a motel until it's cleaned, which pushes back the release of updates for my mods until further notice.

because as you say there is photographic proof, any chance you can take this rental company that had to watch over your place, to court???

Someone said to me that he thinks that the creator of this mod sold her ideas to EA for them to create the Royal and Legacy pack, and he based this on the uncanny amount of similarities between the too, of course I said no way now true
Hah, I wish. Unfortunately everything made for the Sims is technically owned by EA regardless of who made it.
Please tend to your health first. I, myself, can wait as long as it takes. Real life comes first.

I'm so sorry that this is happening to you! that fucking sucks! you should def. sue someone if possible. I know it's an exhausting process but that's the excuse they bank on you using which is why rental companies get away with shit all the time.
That's horrible, I'm so sorry 😢 I would be incredibly frustrated (also asthmatic), try to report them for it if it's possible where you live.
Def talk to a lawyer situation. Also check what rental and tenant laws are in your areas. They are required in most places to keep apartment habitable and mold counts against that in some places.
Get well soon. My daughter and son has asthma as well. it's a constant struggle. I pray things get better with your home.

Please take care of yourself first, i know we are waiting and loving your mods but youre in such an exhausting and upsetting situation right now, it is completely understandable that patreon may be on the sidelines for a bit. Do you mind my asking where the apartment is located? Have you spoken to a tenants board about your rights? Be sure to document everything just in case. Feel free to send me a message if you'd like, I'm no expert but I have some advocacy experience with similar issues in my day job. Appreciate the update, miss your mods but take care of yourself first!
Darwin, Australia! I have been documenting everything, unsure if I will pursue anything just yet. I have looked up and will be getting some free advice from NT's tenant advice hotline 🤗

My, that’s a shitty situation. So sorry for you. I had mold in my apartment, even if it’s mine I couldn’t do anything about it because it’s a facade problem and I depend on others in my building to fix this. I am not asthmatic but I had a friend here who is and she couldn’t stay. Washed the walls with bleach and painted it kind of temporarily works, but then it comes back with a vengeance. Do you have laws in Australia that would allow you to deal with this and deduce from your rent the costs for fixing it? Here we do, thankfully. Anyways. I wish you it gets resolved as quickly as possible.

So sorry to hear you've had to experience this. The fact that they were negligent, then had the nerve to now try to blame you is infuriating, especially given you are asthmatic so it's an increased risk to your health even more so. As someone who struggles with breathing issues that medicine has yet been able to control this makes me so upset for you. Wishing you well during this I'm sure very frustrating time.
