Weekly report 305

Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week. Here's a summary of our work since the last report:
Chestnut:
She worked on polishing cutscenes and adding variations to them. In this update, we almost always rely on using the sprite facial features in cutscenes, meaning that the need for variations is less than before, but even so, there are instances where the cutscenes show different characters so closely that using the sprites would lead to blurry and pixelated art. Chestnut has been making variations for those (sharpening blurred elements by repainting them). She also revised the base art for one of the sex scenes I worked on, as the angle and motion didn't work after creating the mesh and animating it.
Pistachio:
My work was divided between editing the dialogue to remove its fluff and its redundancies, and creating animations. In addition to the animation mentioned above, I also completed another sex scene this week, and that one, fortunately, was pretty straightforward. I have coded it, and it looks pretty good even before its frames being edited by Chestnut.
Speaking of sex scenes, we had mentioned in one of our earlier reports that 0.8 would include a foot job, and we'd love to know if people would prefer that to be optional or not. As of right now, the foot job in question is part of Holly's story and cannot be avoided (it will be optionally repeatable once the story is done). The reason that we made this scene integrated into the story is that MC had already had some involvement with Holly's feet (he licked them to tickle Holly and win against her in mud wrestling), and we thought the sex scene would be a good end to that interaction. If people are really averse to it, though, we might make it completely optional (will require recoding and some rewriting, but doable). Anyway, please let us know what you think.

Some people like fetishes. I am not one of them. But if its already coded and its not an "extreme" fetish category.... I would not bother making it optional.
I also think the footjob makes sense in this case. I wouldn't miss it if there were no footjob in the game though.
It's not my kink but not a turn off either. But let's review ingame options... - My understanding is that you are currently working on making more of dear Celestinas content optional since people were relatively loud with that one. - There is an option at the end of Gomiras story for preg related kinks, unsure what it affects ingame. - Anal is completely optional ingame right now. I really like this solution. - There are some options to where mc cums in sex scenes. Nice! - Side characters storys become optional when they depart from being key to the main story. Options are mostly nice but I'd say keep the footjob as is. You guys have more kinks planned and people might expect you to also give us a skip button for those if you wanna implement them in the middle of a future story line.
Why not release it on Steam?

I personally would prefer if it's optional, but if it's already been coded and makes sense plot-wise, I don't see a compelling reason to make you rewrite it: leave it in and we'll live with it 😊 Just please, plan future similar scenes to be skipable if you can. Thank you!
[addressing everyone demanding the scene be optional] If y'all can't click through something as relatively harmless as a footjob, you're weak and unworthy and I can't wait to see what happens when something that might actually be controversial comes up
Playing the Devil's Advocate, it's also not nice being forced on a game situation you don't like. You might not mind one footjob but some people might find it very uncomfortable to the point of not playing the game anymore.

Don't bend yourselves painfully. What you propose seems equitable
Feet can be hot, can be gross, honestly the situation is key, and I think your logic on this is solid: if it's come up as a relevant plot point before, then it's something they share. And knowing Holly, she's not giving the MC much of a choice in the matter 🤣
I'm personally not a foot person, but not so against it that it would ruin things for me, so having a single instance of it as part of the story is fine. (Plus, the completionist in me would have to go get it anyway even if it was optional)

Keep the footjob! I think it's fine to have it show up once in the story, and then be optionally repeatable afterwards.
I think it's cool that you check that out with people. Feet aren't my kink personally, but I think it's fun that it makes sense in the situation. Also, it seems many others are really into it.
