im incredibly surprised at the lack of mention on the owl house. i thought it'd be right up your alley to be honest. unless of course its something thatd be featured in the public version of the video as well. either that, or i didnt pay hard enough attention LOL
You're spot on Clover :) It'll be in the final version of the video :) With a guest appearance from Geektoons :)
Slightly related, someone once made an animation involving that design of Velma with the OG design of Shaggy (all over the sake of the story, he's extremely fat) and I can't help but think it was their way of saying that that race wasn't the issue in "Velma", mainly it was the writing
If you’re a fan of Invincible, there’s actually another cartoon available on Prime Video that has some similarities to Invincible whilst still being its own show: The Legend of Vox Machina. Based on the popular web series, Critical Role, it follows the adventures of the eponymous team as they travel throughout their home continent of Exandria taking on an assortment of demons, dragons, and supernatural entities. But it isn’t just action and darkness, it also contains a lot of character growth and heart that I sometimes feel is lacking in a lot of modern day cartoons. And this show is funnier than hell. I guarantee, you’ll be laughing your ass off by the start of the first episode. And the voice acting is top notch, with a cornucopia of voice acting legends and Hollywood celebrities, including Kelly Hu, Grey Griffin, Matthew Mercer, Henry Winkler, the late and great Lance Reddick, and even David Tennant. If you’re interested, I highly recommend giving Vox Machina a look. I promise you, it’ll be worth the watch.
Legend of Vox Machina I've heard has alot of that character growth. Definitely the vibes I got from invincible and couldn't put the first season down. I definitely could've used a few more laughs in Invincible and Vox might be that better balance
Velma absolutely does not deserve the amount of hate it gets IMO(though I strongly suspect a lot of the negative reviews on places like IMDB were written by people who never actually saw a single episode of the series and just hated on it cause Velma was Indian instead of being white, another classic case of review-bombing by alt-right nazi trolls just like with the Batwoman, Black Lightning and She-Hulk TV shows) I think it's a damn good show for what it is and I don't think it's an "insult" to Scooby Doo at all. You will see positive reviews if you check out the show's official sub-reddit and some critics actually liked it too as you can see here: https://youtu.be/YMfcQDzJ0Cw https://www.theage.com.au/culture/tv-and-radio/velma-mindy-kaling-s-scooby-doo-prequel-opens-with-gusto-20230113-p5ccbs.html https://www.out.com/television/2023/1/17/velma-much-better-haters-trolls-want-you-believe https://thespool.net/reviews/tv-review-velma-hbo-max/ https://www.thedailybeast.com/obsessed/velma-review-gay-and-raunchy-spinoff-reinvents-scooby-doo-for-adults?ref=wrap https://www.huffpost.com/entry/velma-hbo-max-review_n_63bc6303e4b0ae9de1c07df1 https://www.indiewire.com/2023/01/velma-review-prequel-mindy-kaling-1234799186/ https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/tv/2023/01/12/velma-mindy-kaling-reboots-scooby-doo-on-hbo-max/11016175002/ https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2023/jan/12/velma-review-mindy-kaling-scooby-doo https://qiibo.com/entretenimiento/click-play/critica-de-velma/180465/ https://www.themarysue.com/velma-review-mindy-kaling-hbo/ https://datebook.sfchronicle.com/movies-tv/review-hbo-maxs-velma-solves-the-mystery-of-the-smartest-scooby-sleuth https://www.avclub.com/tv-review-hbo-maxs-velma-is-a-pretty-fun-time-1849953553 https://www.ign.com/articles/velma-season-1-review-episodes-1-8 Also you seem to be a bit behind in the news as Velma actually did get cancelled last year, i know i'm probably one of the few people bummed about it but I for one thought that show earned the right to think it was clever because it was IMO(Certainly moreso then the annoying Digital Circus if you ask me).
Well it's nice to finally meet someone who enjoys the show 😆 Personally I watched the first 3 episodes and didn't enjoy the show at all. I never considered it might be a dislike based on Velma's skin color but I remember hearing there was some annoyance from people at something the voice actor did (not sure what it was though. I tried to stay out of the melodrama stuff). I wanted to focus on the quality of the cartoon itself. Glad to hear someone enjoyed it though!
I honestly liked the Megamind sequel and TV series, i've seen FAR worse. I found Smiling Friends funny but it is something of an acquired taste.
That was a great video as always!!
Love this video so far! I have to check out Cupheads and The Amazing Digital Circus!
I'm not so saddened by it as I never forgave Sesame Street Workshop for allowing the use their autistic character Julie for use in promotions by the hate-group Autism Speaks(they portray Autism as some kind of horrible disease)they were called out for it and rightfully so but they never apologized for it and it sickens me that a character that a lot of aspies look up to was allowed to be used in such a malicious way by a disgusting and hateful group of people. As someone with autism I simply cannot overlook that absolutely shameful action on their part.
The show didnt make the list but I highly recommended She-ra Princesses of Power. Its one of the most progressive cartoons I have seen and I will acknowledge it does have its flaws, but strengths overrides its weakness IMHO. I love seeing Adora and heck even Cat-ra throughout all 5 seasons
Although its 2018 and not 2020's I agree it's a fantastic show :)
Love the video ❤️ Crazy to see a sequel to this video
Great photo
