Looking at Autism Spectrum Cartoon Characters
Howdy boss! Nin and I take an extensive look at all the cartoon characters considered to be on the Autism spectrum. Either coded (considered by fans) to be on the spectrum. Or officially recognised by the cartoon creators as on the spectrum 😀 Heads up there was alot of characters so this is a long one so maybe one to watch in small parts 😄 Can't wait to hear the discussions on some of these characters or other characters on the spectrum 😀

This was a great video and I love just watching you guys chat. One of my best friends is a licensed therapist who recently got diagnosed as autistic and she has a very strong suspicion I am on the spectrum as well. I wouldn't be surprised honestly. This video actually helped me think about that more and how I look at different characters.
I see Isabella from Encanto as very autism coded. The fact that she’s stuck being perfect feels like a metaphor for her masking all her neurodivergent tendencies. What Else Can I Do is such a happy song because to me it feels like the first time she’s truly letting herself stim and unmask. The lyrics are just so on point with me personally too, that song brings me back to when I embraced my neurodivergent identity and stopped seeing it as the disability it felt like sometimes.
That's really true. I forgot about her perfection tendencies. While I'm not as good at picking up women on the spectrum, Isabella very much reminds me of many women on the spectrum I've met.
I would say Don from Ninja Turtles because he's involved in his own universe, he's techy savy,he's hyper focused and not the most agile of his brothers.
I heard a few people mention Donatello too
I want to shot out to these characters are confirmed or heavily hinted they are autistic -June Chen (Ghost and Molly McGee) -Nora Khan (Dead End Paranormal Park) -Reagan Ridley (Inside Job)
Interesting video! One other character that I could see being on the spectrum is Elsa from Frozen.
I love this a few My Little Pony characters are autistic coded. I’d like this for characters who people see are transgender and non binary like Danny Phantom and Trixie Lulamoon
That's a great idea! Talking about transgender or non-binary cartoon characters. I'll make a note of that for future patron poll
I hear a lot of characters accused of having autistic traits, the only two I really liked were Hank Hill and Daria. Though Rick, Morty and Archer have have already declared themselves this and Grim, Billy and Mandy have the creators word I guess.
I'm glad you're still making videos.I'm really excited to see what you're next and I really do like what you're talking about here because i'm on the spectrum and it's nice to see characters also on the spectrum
Awesome video as ever strider, love to see the extensive research you and Nin put into this video!
A character that I believe to be on the spectrum that wasn't included is Darwin Watterson from Gumball
Interesting choice! I could definitely see Darwin being level 1
Awesome video as always Strider! To be honest I genuinely wasn’t expecting to see any South Park characters on the spectrum until this video I did think for the longest time Stan was on the spectrum due to him being the most sensitive out of the main 4 and the episodes you’re getting old and ass burgers but it turned out that wasn’t true. I’ve always thought Lisa Simpson is autistic too 😁 great video
Fun fact! Kamille Bidan from the anime Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam is actually confirmed autistic!
Is it just me or does Nin kinda look like Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica?
I’ve heard from a few that Jenny Wakeman from My Life as a Teenage Robot, aka my queen, is on the spectrum due to her either fidgeting or her hyper fixation on fitting in with the popular kids. I don’t personally see it but I thought it was worth sharing.
I don't see it either - she's a robot trying to fit in with humans, it makes sense that she'd be a little awkward But if people on the spectrum can associate with her then more power to them
I don't know if you've heard of this but Rocky from paw patrol is believed to be on the spectrum and Wheeler from the spin-off as well but never confirmed by the show runners but it's believed by fans
Omg so excited to watch!!!
