DELVE: Reforged
Those of you who read the Blackwell Games Newsletter will already be aware but I figured it was best to do a post here too.
When I first made DELVE I was inspired by the stories Dwarf Fortress players would tell and my favourite of those was the Youtuber, Kruggsmash. His videos turn the ASCII worlds of DF into amazing videos full of characterful art and now he has graciously agreed to work with us on the sequel to DELVE. DELVE: Reforged!
My plan is to start working on DELVE: Reforged in January and to keep a running dev log with playable versions releasing whenever we can. Think of it like an Early Access videogame. Once we've got the basic mechanics in place, we can release that foundation and start putting out modules that introduce things like:
Enemy Generation
Progression Trees for Tech, Magic, and Diplomacy
Resource Production
Biomes
Overworld Mechanics
Rooms
Units
And so much more.
My goal is to make DELVE: Reforged into a definitive DELVE experience that provides everything you need to create a richly detailed dwarven city while still being approachable for new players. That means we're looking at including a tutorial hold, gated progression to combat that initial overwhelm, and optional Simplified versions of most mechanics so you can tailor the experience to your style.
I'm really excited for this project and I can't wait to get stuck in to it :)
Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a great new year!

I love this! But real question: are we simulating each limb separately now? :D
